Hi Ciceley & Cynthia, thanks for joining us today. How has Covid changed your business model?
The way Covid impacted our business model was it changed the way we saw physical offering services for our clients. Being we were out of work for a little over a month with no pay, we realized what if something else happened that permanently kept us from doing what e love. What would we do to make money without having to really “work.” This idea allowed us to bring storm ideas on just how we could make money and other streams off income with working in the salon or not at all. Covid was definitely an eye opener to get creative and think Outside of the box.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We’re the Miles twins and we specialize in hair and nails. We got into the beauty industry back in high school. Cynthia is the one who specializes in hair, offering sew ins, wigs, and tape ins as well as other service and has a hair company where her clients and others can purchase hair through her. Ciceley specializes in nails and offers acrylics and gel X extensions and also offers an assortment of nail art designs as well as hand painted characters ranging from anime to your favorite cartoon. What sets us apart from others would be that we’re twins who work together in the industry providing a one stop shop for clients who would like to kill two birds with one stone. The problem we solve for our clients is not just the quality of service but the quality of customer service. We don’t believe in having extra policies, we grew up in the beauty industry and we understand that when it comes to it things happen, we’re human just as much as our clients are, things happen. We like to extend grace to our clients the same way we hope they will extend it back to us. What we are most proud of is our passion for what we do, that’s something that can’t be taken away from us. You’ll never not see us learning how to better ourselves as individuals and business owners. We want our potential clients to know that we care more about the quality of work we put out, not just about making quick money. We understand that our clients work hard for their money and we want to be sure that every penny spent with us is worth it and that our clients leave satisfied.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy we have seen so far that has helped our clientele grow us word of mouth. As cliche as it may sound it’s the basic principle of marketing that has helped us the most. Social media followers and likes don’t always put clients in seats. Word of mouth however does due to the trust built between us and the client referring us as well as a trust being formed when the potential client trusts the word of the client that has that relationship with us.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
We believe what helped us build a reputation with our market is one that we’re twins but two because of our customer service skills. We’ve always been business minded and understand things happen whether good or bad but it’s about how you handle the situation. We don’t believe in the extra fees or unnecessary policies that are hard to follow. Customer service has definitely built our reputation outside of our skills.
