We were lucky to catch up with Ciara Parker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ciara, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Becoming an Entrepreneur and doing it full time was truly a Faith journey! I’ve always worked hard and when it was time for me to stop working my regular 9-5, I literally had to trust God for my next steps which ultimately ushered me into entrepreneurship and actually utilizing all my gifts and talents…this was quite a pivot but necessary. I now own a business that has several branches underneath and I also have a beauty brand along with my best friend as my business partner. I’m able to set my own prices and goals and attract the clients that I deserve.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a singer which is a huge bulk of my business. This expands across a wide range of services that I offer including: Vocal coaching, music workshops, studio work (songwriting, vocal production, vocal arranging, BGV’s, lead vocals, ect.), live performances, ministry opportunities, preaching and speaking engagements, and leading worship. I also offer artist development, wardrobe styling, graphic design, marketing, I have an online clothing line as well. So basically, I’m your ONE STOP SHOP for all needs in the music and entertainment industry as well as ministry. I’ve faced some challenges at times but I’d say to anyone if you keep going, there’s no way you can’t make it!!!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2015 I was diagnosed with heart failure and diabetes. I thought that it would take a toll on my work ethic, travels, and ultimately my assignment in the earth BUT it was only a testing of my faith. I was able to persevere through some of my hardest days and music was the thing that kept me driven. God used my own gift to save me and keep me alive! Resilience at its best!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect about doing what I do is that I get to see it duplicated and inspire others to do the same thing! People are familiar with my journey and it gives them hope to keep pursuing their dreams and be as creative as they can possibly be!
