We recently connected with Ciara Butler and have shared our conversation below.
Ciara, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
My business started with a feeling before it ever became a plan. It was this pull I couldn’t ignore, knowing so many people had stories, ideas, and dreams they weren’t sure how to bring to life. While working in User Experience Design and publishing with tech companies in California, I saw incredibly talented people get stuck. Not because they weren’t capable, but because they didn’t know where to start. That stayed with me.
So instead of waiting for the perfect moment, I made a move. I formed my business, took on my first client, and figured things out step by step. Some days felt exciting and some days felt overwhelming, but every small win reminded me I was building something meaningful.
My launch wasn’t one dramatic moment. It was choosing to show up again and again, even through uncertainty and doubt. That journey taught me something I now pass to every client. You don’t need to be perfect to begin. You just need the courage to start.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a Brand Designer and AI Specialist, but at my core, I’m someone who loves helping people build what they’ve been imagining. I started in UX and tech, and early in my career, I noticed how many entrepreneurs and business owners had brilliant ideas but felt overwhelmed trying to bring everything together. Branding, websites, messaging, content, AI tools, systems, automation — most people were trying to juggle all of it separately, and it left them frustrated and unsure where to start.
That’s what led me to build Prism and Sable. I wanted to create a space where people didn’t just get a logo or a website, but a full strategy and experience that actually supports their goals. I work with small businesses, organizations, and founders who want clarity and a system that works. Whether we’re designing a brand identity, building a website, integrating AI tools to streamline operations, or helping someone self-publish based on their expertise, my goal is to make the process feel intentional, aligned, and easy to manage long-term.
What sets my work apart is the holistic approach. A lot of people focus on just one part of the business like branding, or web design, or automation, but without strategy and alignment these pieces don’t work together. I help clients build the full ecosystem so everything connects, supports their purpose, and creates momentum instead of more chaos or tech fatigue.
I’m proud of the transformation I get to witness. Seeing a client go from unsure and overwhelmed to confident and clear is the part that inspires me. The biggest thing I want people to know is this. Your vision is valid, and with the right systems and support, it’s completely achievable. My work is about helping you build it in a way that feels grounded, intentional, and true to who you are.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
It surprised me, but LinkedIn has been my best source of new clients. At first, I only used it for networking and career connections. I never saw it as a place to grow my business until I started posting consistently about my process, the work I do, and the results my clients experience. The engagement isn’t always the highest, but the quality of connections is unmatched. Most of my inquiries come through direct messages and referrals from people within my network or community. The other major source has been word of mouth, which always feels like the highest compliment.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Absolutely. I wish I had discovered AI tools earlier in my journey because they’ve helped me scale without sacrificing quality or burning out. As a small business owner, the ability to duplicate yourself is huge. AI has helped me save time, work smarter, and stay consistent even when I’m managing multiple projects.
Tools like “Opus Clips” have made content creation easier. “Comet” has helped me research and connect with the right people on LinkedIn. And using AI platforms like ChatGPT to automate lead generation, write outreach emails, and streamline communications has been a game-changer. With these tools, I can reach out to 50 to 75 potential clients a day or automate recurring tasks I used to do manually.
There are so many powerful tools available now, and I love teaching my clients how to use them so they can grow their businesses with less overwhelm and more confidence.
