We recently connected with Chun Swae and have shared our conversation below.
Chun, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I’m now two years into my career and out of all the opportunities i’ve had the pleasure of working on, I think the one i’m apart of now is probably the most meaningful! When I first started taking Content creation seriously and more so as a profession I noticed most projects I worked on were just for the money or for the moment that may have been trending. However the project i’m apart of currently is a brand ambassadorship with the clothing brand “Aliesha Renea”. Working with this brand means a tremendous amount to me because as a young black creative I don’t get many opportunities to work with brands that represent my people! This is the first black owned brand that has ever reached out to me to be apart of something great, and personally I love their mission of strength, determination, self love, and empowerment.

Chun, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who may have never heard of me, my name is Chun Swae. I’m a Runway & Fashion Model and Social Media Influencer! I got into the modeling industry during the beginning of the pandemic in December of 2020 and haven’t stopped since. I’ve been featured in FOX, CBS, NBC, and have walked NYFW, LAFW, and even out of the country as well! Anyone who has seen me walk the runway will tell you it’s like no other! The energy shift when I walk down and strut is unimaginable you’d have to see it to believe it! As a Social media Influencer I work directly with brands to promote their products (i.e. Clothing, Beauty, Hair) and I also provide paid promotional services as well. If you had an event or new product launch you could reach out to me through DM or through email for promotion inquiries. I do dedicated Youtube videos, Tiktoks, IG Feed posts etc. I’m most proud of how accepting my audience is! Sometimes i’m very flamboyant and at times i’m just a regular ole Joe and my audience loves me either way!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I have a plethora of goals that drive me and I set new goals all the time. Most people when they first meet me assume that I have one goal, to be rich and famous. While yes that comes with time if you build your foundation properly that isn’t the main goal. To me that’s bizarre, if my goal was to be rich and famous what happens when the money runs out? What happens when my 5 minutes of fame is up? You’re left empty and living an unfulfilled miserable life. One of my main goals is to be impactful for the longevity of my career. So I can continue doing what I love until the day I die. So one day I can look back and say this is what I’ve left behind for the world to enjoy for years to come. To leave a legacy of greatness and hopefully inspire others like me who may not have that person to look up to as an inspiration. That is what you call success and that is my goal.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I find that the most rewarding aspect in my profession is being able to connect with likeminded individuals on a deeper level. I tend to be a very social person and I meet new faces and make new friends almost anywhere I go. However when I meet new creatives, there’s a certain level of understanding that we all have for each other that truly sets us apart. Being able to surround yourself with likeminded people from all walks of life and being able to connect in different ways is a truly beautiful thing! As a content creator it’s probably one if the best things as a creative that you can do for yourself. No one else is going to understand creativity in that way. No one else is going to experience the different things we go through or experience in the same way.
