We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chrystle Cadet a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Chrystle , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea actually came from my best friend. She was planning a party for her mother and wanted candied apples for her treat table. She reached out to me and gave details on what she needed, even though she was well aware that I had no experience in the area. I was actually terrified at the thought and didn’t want to do it, but I knew she would not let up on her request. So I went to the internet for research and created the apples to them best of my ability. I posted my results on my social media and from there I begin to get multiple requests for candied apples. Thus Bling Apples was born.

Chrystle , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Creating candied apples was never a desire or plan of mine. It just happened organically. My best friend had a need and I fulfilled it and in turn a business was created.
I provided an array of customizable treats for any and every occasion! Our products include candied apples, candied popcorn, various chocolate covered treats, party favors and more. Most of our treats can be customized in one way or another to match themes and/or occasions.
What sets Bling Apples apart is our customer service. We are passionate about what we do and strive to make each customer proud of their decision in doing business with us. Also, we get joy in creating each order and I believe that shows in our workmanship.
I am most proud of the growth of Bling Apples. We are always looking for the next need we can meet for our customers. We continue to add new products to our menu and we try to meet each and every customers request. Many times a customer will ask for something that we don’t currently offer. Instead of just saying no, we look into it to try to figure out how to meet that need. Unless it’s cake pops, we do not do cake pops lol.
What I’d like people to know about Bling Apples is that we do not take our success for granted. We are grateful for each and every order and we strive to provide services that meets your expectations. It’s not just about putting out orders. The goal is satisfying our customers and providing products that take their events to the next level so that they are unforgettable!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I truly believe that our customer service helped build our reputation. It’s our goal to make our clients feel that they are heard and that their business is important to us. At this point, most of our business is generated by word of mouth and I believe that that only happens when you have good products along with good customer service!

Do you have any stories of times when you almost missed payroll or any other near death experiences for your business?
Close calls! These have happened more times than we care to admit unfortunately, lol. We love to keep our orders fresh so most orders we prepare the day of. We have had situations where our candied apples end up being the wrong color and having to melt the candy off of each apple and starting over. Our chocolate seizing and not being able to dip the treats. We’ve had situations where our basement was flooded, loosing power etc. There are so many unpredictable variables when it comes to creating treats that sometimes, no matter how much you plan, some things are just beyond our control causing us to just make the deadline without a minute to spare.
