Chrystal, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I didn’t exactly come up with the idea for my business – it’s more like my business found me. I was led to it through a series of deeply intuitive experiences. The moment that changed everything happened during an intense breathwork session at my best friend’s women’s retreat in Tulum, Mexico. At that point, I had already been practicing breathwork for over a year, so I was familiar with going deep, but this was different. During the session, I received clear guidance that I was meant to sign up for my life coaching certification, get my Reiki attunements, and even write a book.
At the time, these practices were a regular part of my personal growth, but the idea of turning them into a business felt completely foreign. Still, I knew I had to trust what I was feeling. That night, I enrolled in my life coaching certification and soon after pursued my Reiki Level One and Two attunements. Over the last three years, I’ve continued to receive similar guidance, always pulling me toward my true calling and purpose.
My journey is constantly evolving, and I’ve learned to flow with it, trusting that I am exactly where I need to be. This business isn’t just a business to me; it’s my purpose. It’s what lights me up and fuels my soul. I’m here for wherever it takes me next.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who may not know me, I’m a transformational life coach, Reiki Seichem and sound healer, and cold plunge facilitator. I’m based in Albany, Oregon, but I work with clients all over the world. My journey into this work began with my own need for healing. At one point in my life, I was an overwhelmed mom, wife, entrepreneur, and a serial volunteer, running on empty. My nervous system was shot, and I was on the brink of an emotional breakdown from years of unresolved trauma. I was focused so much on how things looked on the outside that I had completely neglected my internal state.
In search of healing, I found Reiki, life coaching, meditation, journaling, and breathwork. These practices helped me reconnect with myself and slowly begin to heal from within. As I went deeper into these modalities, I realized just how powerful they were, and eventually, I was guided to share this work with others. During a transformative breathwork session at my best friend’s women’s retreat in Tulum, I received clear guidance to sign up for my life coaching certification and pursue my Reiki attunements. From that point, I knew this was my purpose.
Today, I offer a variety of services to help women reconnect with their true selves and step into their power. My offerings include 1:1 transformational life coaching, Reiki Seichem, sound healing, and cold plunge sessions, as well as an integrated combination of all three. I also host small group Reiki and sound healing events, and I offer personalized wellness retreats for those seeking a more immersive experience. One of my signature programs is a 7-week journey called “Journey to the Heart,” where I combine life coaching, Reiki, and sound healing to help clients experience deep transformation and alignment.
The women I work with are often dealing with feelings of overwhelm, self-doubt, or being stuck in survival mode. I help them release emotional and energetic blockages, heal past traumas, and find more alignment in their lives. What sets me apart is that I’ve been in their shoes – I know what it’s like to feel disconnected from yourself and to live in a constant state of stress. Because of this, I create a safe, non-judgmental space where my clients feel supported and seen as they work through their own healing.
What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has on the lives of my clients. Watching women release what’s holding them back and step into their true power is the most fulfilling part of my work. I want potential clients and followers to know that my approach is deeply personal and compassionate. I’m here to guide them on a journey toward healing and transformation, helping them reconnect with themselves and create lives that light them up from the inside out. My brand is all about empowering women to reclaim their power, find their purpose, and live more fully.
Have you ever had to pivot?
My major pivot happened in 2020. At the time, I was balancing multiple roles – running a business with my husband, managing my own women’s clothing boutique, raising my three boys, and serving on several nonprofit boards. When the world shifted during COVID, I found myself in an entirely new role: homeschooling two middle schoolers and my second-grade son. It was during this time that I saw firsthand the struggles my youngest son was facing in school, struggles I could no longer ignore.
By the summer of 2020, I knew that if schools didn’t reopen, I would have to make some tough decisions. When the announcement came in August that schools would remain closed, I decided to sell my boutique. I set a goal to have the sale finalized by October 1st, and I did it – I sold the store for all cash, closing the deal on September 30th. Along with selling my business, I also made the decision to step away from my nonprofit work after over 10 years of community service. It was time to enter what I now call my “10 years of no” phase – a time to prioritize myself and focus on the needs of my family, especially my sons.
This pivot was a turning point for me, allowing me to let go of external commitments and shift my energy toward what truly mattered: my personal healing and the well-being of my family.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to unlearn is the idea that success is solely tied to how hard you work. Growing up, I was taught that if you don’t have enough money or if things aren’t going the way you want, you simply need to work harder. Be the first to arrive, the last to leave, and measure your worth by how much you can get done. This belief came from my dad, who I love dearly, and it’s something that was passed down to him by his father.
As I’ve worked on my own healing and dug deeper into the stories I’ve carried, I realized how much this mindset had shaped my life. I had to learn that it’s not only okay to rest, but that it’s safe for me to do so. Resting doesn’t make me any less valuable or less worthy. My worth isn’t tied to how much I accomplish, and taking time to recharge is essential, not a weakness. This shift has been huge for me, allowing me to let go of the pressure to always be doing more and embrace a more balanced, fulfilling way of living.
