ChriStyle , appreciate you joining us today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I’ve made is purchasing my first microphone . At 18 I started to dabble in the process of recording vocals . I knew I was going to need a legit condenser microphone , in order to create frequencies I would later be able to edit . Learning this helped me critique the quality of my recordings , ultimately I would create the sound I was able to sustain with just a novice level of experience at the time . This process became consistent and I went on to seriously pursue the skill of rapping into a microphone . Often times aspiring vocalist don’t realize that there is a technique to recording . Its important to practice breath control , pronunciation , and a steady level of tone in the efforts of creating a successful vocal recording .
ChriStyle , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been considering myself a Artist since I started to pursue music seriously just right before adulthood . I’m referred to as a wordsmith or a lyricist that specializes in “word play.” Over the years I’ve been able to entertain and provoke thought consistently throughout the music I record . I think I’m the blend between the excitement of the youth and the wisdom of experienced adults . In that instance I’m able to gain the attention of multiple people in various walks of life . I choose to see this as a service especially for people who struggle to express themselves as well as for anybody who’s into the art of hiphop and the entertainment that comes along with it . I’m most proud of what I’ve been able to create for myself , which is a avenue to express myself and create songs that may inspire the least expected person . I plan to continue to grow in my art and display my story with the intentions to inform the listeners that music is the universal language and I’m qualified to speak it .
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I’ve been a victim to being so closed off in my though process that it hindered me from being as productive as I could be . I’ve had to unlearn the idea of excluding people in the creative process in order to express myself purely . I’ve learned that people will inspire me to be creative in ways that I wouldn’t imagine all by myself and that it’s actually beneficial at times to have the opinions of like minded people in the creative process .
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Over the years I’ve found myself needing to wear multiple hats in order to fulfill my plans as a Artist . The lack of resources forced me to learn how to do a lot of things on my own . While I’ll always agree that two heads are better than 1 I’ve afforded the ability to handle multiple jobs in the creative process . This is easily a testament to my resilience in not making an excuse to get some music done .
