We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christy Simoncelli. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christy below.
Christy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
I love this question! My parents were hard workers and they loved each other in the biggest most obvious ways possible. My dad was an entrepreneur and after years of working for others, finally opened his own restaurant in his late 30’s. He absolutely showed me the value of hard work and pursuing your dreams. My mom had a successful career as a banker after staying home with my brothers and I for ten years. She showed me how to be passionate about your career and how to be an effective boss and leader and a mom all at once. She was a powerhouse! But if I had to pick just one thing they did that influenced me the most, it was their pursuit of their esoteric studies and sharing other perspectives in our home. My parents both studied astrology although my mom studied more deeply. My dad was a student of numerology and loved to study handwriting. As a small business owner, he would decide whether or not to hire people based on their signature a lot of the time! My mom also studied palm reading in addition to astrology. Growing up in a household where this was normalized was profound for me! I knew my astrology glyphs and was encouraged to see what else was happening in situations at a very young age.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an astrologer, a psychic medium, a writer and a yoga teacher. Having grown up in a household of free thinkers, I was exposed at a very young age to the esoteric arts. After an almost 20 year career in public health and oncology research, I inadvertently fell into my current work after a massive health crisis. As I sought out cures to my physical ailments, I eventually encountered energy medicine which changed my whole life’s trajectory.
My career was in science, and this energy work was so far from my normal, I had to learn more because in spite of my skepticism, this stuff was helping me. As I studied and took classes, things starting opening up for me. In 2017, I had my first encounter with a person in spirit and things just snowballed from there.
I work with clients to solve life’s challenges, help them find their way when they are at a crossroads and also provide peace to those who are suffering with grief, loss and loss of faith. I use my gifts of intuition and pair them with systems like astrology and Human Design to help people get a sense of who they are and what they can do to help work with their energy instead of against it. I offer readings for individuals, partnerships, families and small groups. I have been writing a blog about all of my experiences since 2020. It is my hope that if we all share our stories of the otherworldly nature, this phenomena would be better accepted. We are absolutely all connected, and perhaps this awareness will help us start living as such!
I do not believe in coincidences. I do believe in miracles, magic and the power of collective consciousness to change things and make new ideas. My goal is always to shift consciousness and start conversations. I also believe that if we all learn how to tap into our own intuition and innate gifts, we can be our own self healers and our collective would be a much kinder place.
What makes me unique is my brain’s way of seeing things. When I sit down with a client, I immediately get what I call the “trailer reel.” I see the highlights of what is happening in their life right now. It is very often a colorful display of movie references, nature and symbolism. Spirit will do anything to get me to say what needs to be said to help my clients!
Because I am a skeptical person by nature, I do not share what I do not believe and it takes me a lot to believe in something, I require evidence and proof that things are useful. My own healing journey has taught me so much about energy, our natural tendencies and our purpose.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In 2018, amid my own health crisis and career pivot, my mom got sick while on vacation in Florida with some friends. In what would become the last 6 weeks of her life, I was tasked with trying to get her a proper diagnosis for the disease that was rapidly overtaking her body and causing her to be profoundly disabled and unable to communicate. That part alone took 4 weeks and then we needed to get her home to receive care and be with her family. This took a massive amount of connection, fundraising, prayer, community and love. We eventually got her home with just shy of two weeks left in her life. My next challenge was facing her mortality, and trying to let her go while desperately clinging for her to stay. I feel very strongly that my own health crisis and spiritual awakening happened just in time for me to help her transition. It is amazing what we can do when we have no choice but to keep going. I write about this experience in depth on my blog and my Substack.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
For me, it is all about perseverance and trust! You can be trained to talk with dead people, but at the end of the day it is a trial and error activity. You have to set up your own system, your own symbols and language because the dead seldom use words. Every time I open my mouth, I am subject to questioning and I have to be OK with that in order to serve the greater good, which is what I know I am doing every time I sit down with someone.
The thing they don’t tell y0u about talking to dead people is that it is a really heavy thing to carry. We hold our client’s hopes in our hands, their potential for healing and for joy and for freedom. It is up to the great beyond how it all works out; I am here to hold space and listen, but I can’t make people hear what they aren’t ready for. I am the bridge that connects both sides.
I whole heartedly trust the messages I receive so that has served me well. Spirit always shows up for me and they always want their loved ones to feel better and live their best lives. If this is your calling, you won’t be able to let it go. It is hard but deeply rewarding work!
