We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christopher Printz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christopher below.
Christopher, appreciate you joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Yes, I currently earn a full-time living from my creative work. I started off filming a few weddings a year, and a few more the following year until I realized that I was making more money than I had ever made before. I then dove into weddings full-time and never looked back. Some of the major steps were definitely when I realized that great vendor relationships were just as valuable as producing good work. Being easy to work with is something that every vendor should be known for in the wedding industry. Knowing what I do now, I think I could have sped up the process a bit by raising my prices sooner than I did. I was stuck for a few years shooting too many weddings for too little money. Now, I am always evolving and always changing my pricing accordingly.

Christopher, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I actually have a degree in filmmaking and I never thought I would be filming weddings. I create heirlooms in video form so that my clients can relive their wedding day through a lens and perspective other than their own. I’m most proud of being able to give my clients something that truly makes them and their family members happy. I want my future clients and followers to know that video is the future and story is everything. I am in the business of capturing emotions and nothing is more emotional than your wedding day! My brand is luxury wedding films for the adventurous couple.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I get to have creative freedom and my clients trust me completely to deliver a product that is of the highest quality, but also has a piece of my creativity attached.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Honestly, I just wish I had reached out to other creatives for help long before I did. We entrepreneurs in the wedding industry are all on the same team and we can greatly benefit from speaking to each other.
