We were lucky to catch up with Christopher Moreno recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christopher, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
The defining moment in my professional career definitely has to be when I made the decision to quit my last job and go all in with my business.
During the last month prior to quitting my job, I had a routine where I would wake up at 2:45am to be at the gym by 3:30am and get a workout in prior to starting a 5am shift.
Once I would clock in, I would have to mentally coach myself that 6pm would arrive fast as long as I kept myself busy with work.
After a couple weeks of this schedule, my former coworkers began to slack to a point where being around began to personally affect me.
The energy they had with getting things done, the mindset they had, the things they would talk about, the things they would complain about, all of it got to the level where I physically could not stand to be around it any longer.
The pay of the job didn’t matter.
The benefits of the job didn’t matter.
The security of the job didn’t matter.
I knew at that point, things NEEDED to change RIGHT THERE AND THEN.
I knew at that point, the saying “if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life” had to be the absolute truth.
And I made the decision to quit chasing the money, the perks, the things, and to go all in on Chris Moreno Training.
It was nothing personal against the individual people I was around.
I just knew that I didn’t belong there.
And if it was not for that experience, I do not 100% know for sure if I would be doing what I have been blessed to be able to do for a living.
I now get to live my purpose every single day.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
ChrisMorenoTraining is about helping others who are looking to smash all limiting beliefs through fitness, nutrition, mindset, and habit coaching.
It’s common in the fitness industry to only focus on activity (workouts) and what we eat (nutrition).
Yes, those are critical factors in determining one’s ability to get results.
But I would say what separates ChrisMorenoTraining from many others in the industry is definitely the focus how one’s mindset and habitual way of thinking is what determines their results OVER the typical “finding the ‘best’ workout and nutrition regimen.”
The “best” workouts and the “best” diet won’t do anything for anybody that doesn’t have their mindset and habits aligned with the person that has their desired results.
By addressing the actual root of the problem, we ENSURE the results happen for those who are willing to make EVERY change necessary for them to be the person that has the results they want.
And this mindset doesn’t just bring physical changes, but also brings positive changes to the other areas of life as well.
As stoked as I get to see my clients get physical results and changes, there’s nothing that makes me more proud than when I see their newly established mindset bring advancement in the other parts of their lives: relationally, emotionally, even financially.
Because they look their best and think their best, they are able to put out the best energy, the best intent, the best effort in every single thing that they do, and that brings forth gains in all areas of life!
And it all started with their ability to follow directions without any deviation.
To any potential clients, as long as you have the skill of following through without any compromise, the results WILL happen.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I truly believe mental toughness is one of the most important, if not the most important, in succeeding, not just in my field, but any field.
The abilities to persevere, to endure, to never quit, to have true self-belief, to have true self-confidence, grit, tenacity, and all of the components that make one mentally tough will carry them through ANY form of INEVITABLE adversity that comes.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
What I have noticed to be the most effective strategy in growing clientele is through word of mouth.
And that has happened by overdelivering on everything and getting clients their desired results.
By giving clients more than what they pay for and getting them the results they wanted, they all have told at least 1 other person that they know about all the changes that have happened.
