We were lucky to catch up with Christopher Harris recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

One thing I learned from being in the Army is that you need to set realistic goals. Goals with benchmarks that can be measured. Success does not often have the same meaning to everyone or travel at the same speed. This term success can take on many forms. But in general way success would be to achieve things that are not readily achieved by your friends or peers.

Christopher, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a U.S. Army Veteran, served 22 years. In 2019 bought a camera without knowing how to take a photo and the basics of photography. I started to teach myself and was intended for just myself. I started to get offers and requests and one question that came up that opened my eye was, “What are your rates?” At that point I thought, I can get paid to take photos which is a hobby for me. I not had to come up with a photography name and that is where Alligcold Photography. This name came from a name I was called in Jamaica. I for the most part clients seek my services without me going out for clients. My skills are increasing often and I can look back and see the growth.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source for new clients seems to be social media. Instagram and Facebook two platforms I see traffic that turns into new clients.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

One lesson I learned is taht you are limited by your own imagination. If you can think it, more than likely it can be done. I try to seek improvement each time I go out and shoot. Also the post processing of the images to improve the content.
