Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christopher Cochran. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christopher, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The Story Behind My Mission: Living a Purpose-Driven Life in Honor of My Son
When I reflect on the mission that I now dedicate my life to—spreading positivity, purpose, and love—what stands out most is that it wasn’t born out of ambition or business goals, but from the most profound loss I could have ever imagined. It’s a mission forged in the ashes of grief, shaped by the journey of my son, Christian, who passed away after bravely fighting cancer at the age of 22.
Christian’s journey was one of courage, grace, and extraordinary resilience. He was diagnosed with a terminal illness at just 22, and while most people would have been consumed with fear and despair, Christian chose to live each day with an open heart, always asking the question: “What’s GOOD about TODAY?” This simple question, asked every single day, became the foundation of his life and, eventually, the foundation of my own mission.
As a father, watching my son grapple with such unimaginable pain and uncertainty, I saw firsthand how focusing on gratitude and love—not just in the easy moments, but in the hardest ones—could transform the experience of living. I watched as Christian, despite his illness, chose to find meaning in every moment, to connect with others, and to spread joy, love, and kindness.
This was not just his story. It became mine as well. His extraordinary ability to live with purpose, even in the face of death, opened my eyes to a deeper understanding of life’s true meaning. It showed me that life isn’t about accumulating tasks or achieving goals—it’s about relationships, connection, and, above all, love. It’s about living each day with intention, cherishing the moments that matter most, and carrying forward a message that transcends all the struggles and trials of daily life.
From this deep personal experience, I realized I had a choice: I could allow grief and loss to consume me, or I could choose to honor Christian’s spirit by sharing his message with the world. And that’s exactly what I chose to do. I chose to honor his legacy by continuing to ask the question he asked every day: “What’s GOOD about TODAY?”
This mission isn’t just about sharing a story; it’s about making a difference. It’s about using my own experience to inspire others to live with purpose, to focus on love, and to embrace gratitude even in the face of adversity. It’s about helping people shift from a life dictated by endless tasks and obligations to a life driven by what they truly love and value. A life that’s not just about what’s crossed off a to-do list, but about what’s truly in your heart.
When Christian passed, I began to shift my focus from what I had to do to what I loved to do. I started asking myself, “What brings joy and meaning to my life? How can I make each day count, no matter how small the action?” This transformation wasn’t instantaneous, but with time, it became clearer that my purpose was to help others find the same sense of peace, joy, and connection that Christian had shown me.
This mission became about more than just honoring Christian’s life; it became a way to help others, no matter their circumstances, live with intention and purpose. It became about spreading kindness, embracing the good, and learning how to thrive no matter the obstacles in our way. Whether it’s through my speaking, my writing, or my work with organizations, I dedicate myself to helping others shift from the endless grind of productivity to a life of purpose-driven action—one where they can focus on what truly matters.
The mission is also about the ripple effect of love. Just as Christian’s life had a profound impact on those around him, my hope is that by sharing his message and living out the lessons he taught me, others will be inspired to pass that message along. It’s not just about living for today, but about creating a legacy—a ripple that touches the lives of others in ways we may never fully understand.
Christian’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and resilience. His story is one of a young man who lived each day with a question in his heart: What’s GOOD about TODAY? That is the question that guides my mission and that I hope to pass on to others. My work is an extension of his life, his courage, and the love he shared with everyone he met. It is my way of ensuring that his story continues to inspire and transform lives long after his passing.
As I continue to share this message through my work, I invite others to join me in living more intentionally, to focus on what truly counts, and to pass along that message of love, positivity, and purpose. Together, we can build a community that focuses on the things that really matter—connection, love, and gratitude.
The work isn’t over. It’s only just begun. And I’m excited to continue this mission, to continue sharing Christian’s legacy, and to continue asking the question, “What’s GOOD about TODAY?”

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
About Me & My Brand:
My name is Christopher Cochran, and my work revolves around helping individuals and organizations embrace a purpose-driven life—one filled with love, resilience, and gratitude. My mission is rooted in the profound loss of my son, Christian, who, despite facing a terminal cancer diagnosis at the young age of 22, chose to live with a perspective that inspired everyone around him. Christian’s question, “What’s GOOD about TODAY?” became a guiding principle for how I live my life and how I want to help others live theirs.
Christian’s journey taught me that life is not about checking off to-do lists or endlessly pursuing tasks for the sake of productivity. Instead, it’s about focusing on what truly matters: love, connection, gratitude, and the ability to find joy even in the most challenging times. This philosophy led me to create my brand, which revolves around helping people embrace these values in both their personal and professional lives.
How I Got Into This Work:
My journey into this line of work began unexpectedly, through my son’s illness. I was deeply moved by how he lived each day with purpose, despite knowing his time was limited. I quickly realized that the lessons he taught me were something worth sharing with the world. After his passing, I felt compelled to speak publicly, to write, and to create content that could help others navigate their own challenges and focus on living a life driven by love rather than tasks.
I began speaking at events, writing articles, and eventually authored my book What’s GOOD About TODAY? A Purpose Driven Life, a tribute to Christian’s extraordinary perspective and resilience. Through my work, I aim to inspire people to adopt a mindset that values the quality of life over the quantity of tasks completed.
What I Offer:
Through my speaking engagements, writing, and consulting, I provide tools and frameworks for individuals and organizations looking to create more meaningful, purpose-driven lives. I help people shift their focus from the endless cycle of “to-do lists” to what truly matters—the relationships they build, the moments they cherish, and the love they spread. I offer motivational talks, workshops, and one-on-one coaching that help individuals and organizations align their actions with their core values, while also cultivating gratitude and positivity.
I also focus on helping business leaders and organizations understand the importance of empathy and intentional leadership, which, in turn, promotes a positive organizational culture. I am committed to helping companies build a culture of kindness, purpose, and collaboration, where employees are encouraged to grow personally and professionally, and where the focus is on long-term sustainability rather than short-term productivity.
What Problems I Solve:
The problems I aim to solve are often deeply rooted in the challenges of modern life: burnout, overwhelm, and disconnection. Many people feel that they are constantly racing against time, completing tasks without a true sense of purpose or fulfillment. They feel disconnected from their own values and relationships, which can lead to stress, anxiety, and dissatisfaction.
Through my work, I help people reconnect with what truly matters to them, enabling them to prioritize love, kindness, and intentionality in their daily lives. I offer solutions for overcoming the exhaustion of constant busyness by encouraging people to embrace a “To-Love List” mindset—prioritizing love, gratitude, and meaningful connection over mere task completion.
What Sets Me Apart:
What sets me apart from others is my deeply personal connection to the work I do. My mission is not just about business strategies or self-help advice; it’s about living with a purpose that transcends any professional or personal success. It is grounded in real-life experience—my own personal journey through grief, healing, and transformation.
I bring authenticity, vulnerability, and a deep sense of empathy to my work. I don’t just talk about living a purpose-driven life; I live it. I use my personal story as a tool to connect with others and inspire change in a way that is both relatable and motivating.
What I Am Most Proud Of:
I am most proud of the legacy my son Christian left behind. His legacy has been the guiding light that fuels my mission. I am proud to be able to share his message of hope and resilience with others. What I’m most proud of is knowing that his story has inspired people all over the world to ask themselves the question, “What’s GOOD about TODAY?”
I am also proud of the impact I’ve been able to have on individuals, leaders, and organizations by helping them live more intentionally. It brings me great joy to know that my work has helped others find a sense of peace, purpose, and connection.
What I Want Potential Clients, Followers, and Fans to Know:
I want people to know that my work is about more than just productivity tips or life hacks. It’s about embracing life in its truest form, with all of its highs and lows. My mission is to help people prioritize love, kindness, and gratitude in their lives, no matter the challenges they face.
I want them to understand that every day is an opportunity to be present, to choose positivity, and to make a difference in the lives of those around us. My work is about creating a culture of love and purpose, where individuals and organizations can thrive—not just by doing more, but by doing what truly counts.
Through my speaking, writing, and coaching, I am here to help individuals, families, and organizations shift their focus from obligations to what really matters. My ultimate goal is to inspire a movement of positivity, love, and intentional living, one person at a time.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’d like to share a story that illustrates the resilience my family and I have developed, particularly after the profound loss of our son, Christian. While this loss affected me deeply, it was not just my loss—it was the loss of my entire family. My wife, Danielle, lost her first-born child, a role that no mother is ever prepared for. Our other children, Kate and Nick, lost their big brother, the person who had always been their inspiration. Christian wasn’t just the center of my life—he was the glue that held our entire family together.
Christian was my best friend. We spent countless hours talking, laughing, and supporting each other through the ups and downs of life. He was also my wife’s best friend, the one who shared in her joys and sorrows, the one who could always make her smile. He had a way of brightening the darkest moments, not just for me, but for everyone around him.
After his passing, we had a choice. We could allow the pain to define us, to let grief paralyze us. Or we could find a way to honor his memory, to keep his spirit alive, and to ensure that his message of love, kindness, and resilience lived on. That’s when I realized that the resilience I had learned from him was not just about bouncing back from adversity—it was about finding purpose even in the face of deep sorrow. It was about embracing the lessons he taught us, especially his ability to find joy in even the most difficult circumstances.
We decided to take his message of “What’s GOOD About TODAY?” and turn it into something that could help others, especially in their darkest moments. In honor of Christian, we worked together as a family to channel our grief into something positive, something that would not only heal us but help others who were going through similar struggles.
Our family’s resilience comes not just from surviving this pain, but from transforming it into something meaningful. And it’s because of Christian’s strength that we were able to rise from this tragedy and, in turn, inspire others to do the same. His legacy continues to guide me, and it’s a constant reminder that resilience is built through love, hope, and the belief that we can make a difference, even in the most challenging of times.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
There was a pivotal moment in my life when I was forced to reevaluate my career and business in a way I hadn’t expected. It wasn’t just a shift in what I was doing—it was a deep transformation in how I saw my purpose and the impact I could make.
Before the loss of my son, Christian, I had been focused on building and growing my company, BluChip Solutions. I had a clear vision, a strong plan, and was working hard to achieve success in the business world. However, when Christian passed away, everything changed. It was as though the very ground beneath me shifted. The idea of “success” no longer had the same meaning. The hustle, the to-do lists, and the grind—everything I had been striving for suddenly felt irrelevant in the face of such profound grief.
In the midst of that loss, I had to pivot—not just in business, but in my entire approach to life. I realized that my true purpose was not just to build a successful business, but to help others find meaning, joy, and resilience, even in the toughest of times. The values that Christian had instilled in me—gratitude, love, and the focus on what truly matters—became my guiding principles. And I knew I needed to share that message with others.
This pivot meant reimagining how I could serve my community and my clients. I started speaking more publicly, sharing my story, and using the lessons I learned through my own journey of loss and healing to inspire others. I began to write and speak about how we can all shift our focus from the never-ending cycle of tasks to the things that truly count—love, relationships, and the moments that matter most.
I also redirected the focus of my business. While still committed to growing BluChip Solutions, I realized that my role had shifted from simply being a CEO to someone who could help people navigate adversity and find purpose. It was no longer just about professional success—it was about making a difference in people’s lives.
The pivot wasn’t easy, and there were many moments of uncertainty, but I’m incredibly grateful for the clarity it brought. It reminded me that sometimes the hardest challenges in life can open doors to new opportunities—opportunities to redefine what success means and to create a legacy that matters.
This shift in perspective was not just a business decision—it was a life decision. And it has allowed me to live in alignment with what I truly believe in: that every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact, to live with intention, and to love deeply.
