We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christopher Baskerville a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christopher , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I’ve taken many risks in my short career of an artist, and a business man. As an artist I finally came to my own style and sound and am very comfortable and fulfilled with the direction I have stepped into, and way more accepting of my style and what I bring to music. As a business man I have taken the risk to invest in myself and get all I need for my music studio, photography/videography studio, and take my brand Baskerville 3nterprise to the next level with a website, and apparel. I can’t see myself being independent and working for myself. I love what I do

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Christopher Baskerville, better known as JAR3LL. I am from Harrisburg Pennsylvania, but moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2013 in the 8th grade. I’ve been singing all my life, My inspiration started in the 3rd grade as I had to do a project on the great Stevie Wonder which took me to the next steps to learn how to play piano. I started singing as a child in church and everyone knew I had a light and that I was going to be different and special. I started writing music at 12, even performed a song I made in my middle school talent show on the piano, and started writing maid at 16. I started to record music in 2018 and actually release but my voice being so low I didn’t like it at first so I rapped initially. Once I got comfortable with my voice and did my research on artist like Barry white I decided to give singing a try again. I just love being creative so I paint as well, draw, and I am a bushes man as well necsei I wasn’t to be my own boss and help people in the best way I can. Me stepping into my own fully was when I dropped my song “CHILL” on my album “ UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN” in 2021, but I really took that next step of soul music when I dropped my song and video “BLACK LOVE” on my EP “ MUZIK CAFE” this year. I have a multi media and apparel company named “Baskerville 3nterprise”, we offer photography, videography, audio recording, apparel, cover art making for anything, and much more. I have a website as well and fall season clothing about to drop very soon. I just need that chance to get my music and brand heard.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
What is driving my creative journey is just loving to see something that I had as a thought in my head being bright to life. It’s like God creating us. The way that he have use that ability to create as well. Like it’s a drug to me to keep on putting my off the wall ideas into reality and I cannot see myself not doing it. Also because I want to prove to my family that I can do it and help them out.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Honestly just show love by sharing. I don’t ask for money, all I ask for you to do is look at my content and good you like it. Of course I will love it but I want to share my gift with the world and only put out positivity. I believe this world needs more positivity and if you can’t get with that i don’t know what to tell you.
