Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christion Cochran. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christion, appreciate you joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Understanding the craft was realizing a lot has to deal with mental ,confidence and not allowing your mind to foreshadow what others are doing by comparing your work to there’s not allowing you to see the work within yours it self. What I could have done to speed up my learning skills was simply
Focusing on myself, in not going out for unnecessary fun that was blocking me from my full potential. Skills that were truly essential was understanding how the camera works in how to adjust The different settings in understanding different view points some of the obstacles that stood in the way was caring what other think rather they would love my work and not judge that I’m not focus on one aesthetic. For a while I was really insecure on my facial structure, but I have allowed myself to love it.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Ever since I was a kid I always been into high fashion but it was never a dream of mine to pursue I wanted to be a professional athlete in basketball but overtime that dream became reality. The people around me always told me. that I was a model but it was never a thought that came across my mind until I sprained my ankle when I was 15 years old, then I remember when I was eight years old my neighbor that I grew up with told me that I look like a model and that is what I’ll be in life one day I was still playing basketball in high school but eventually I met a guy named Juliku Who allowed me to see my craft Who changed my life forever and allowed me to see within. The products I provide, I can also take photos in the work around anything that you want. Problems that I saw with clients is that I am comfortable with my own skin wearing anything that others may not like. What set me apart from others is that I am just having fun doing what I love and not over thinking , and not afraid to take risk. I am extremely proud of the people that I’ve met along the way who have always supported me and gave me a lot of advice on how to better our craft as a whole because we are one together . I want the people to know that i try to work with variety of styles and that I am not focused on one specific genre or style. To know a little about me i’m a super clumsy goofy guy who loves to bright up the room in making sure everyone around me is good before me. My photos will make you feel some type of emotion by looking at them I want my work to tell a story within the eyes and that you feel captivated by the image. i was also really happy that I was able to model for purple brand that was a really cool experience that I won’t ever forget. My brand is to keep having fun while doing what I love and giving unique, creative styles.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
what keeps me driving. Is knowing that everything u want you have to work hard for in that nobody is just going to give you something so you must have high expectations in values for what you want. The main goal is to inspire someone and make sure my family is good.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The rewarding and the beauty of it all is that I am the creator and that I am able to share my story and work on multiple projects.
