We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christine Vonrobarie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you’ve thought about whether to sign with an agent or manager?
I currently do not have an agent, team, or representative to help secure opportunities and compensation for my creative work, though I wish I did. This year, I’ve actively sought out talent agencies for acting and partnerships through social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Finding a reputable talent agency can be incredibly challenging in such a competitive industry, where standards are higher than ever. Talent agencies often operate on a referral basis, making it essential to put yourself out there and build meaningful connections. It’s about finding that one agent willing to take a chance on you and nurturing that relationship.
I quickly realized that having an active social media and acting presence is crucial for agents, which inspired me to engage more actively online. All the projects and opportunities I have worked on so far have been ones I secured or found myself. This endeavor has been incredibly rewarding, and I remain hopeful in finding a talent agent and engaging in meaningful collaborations in the future.

Christine, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Christine VonRobarie, though I was born Christine María Hernández González in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the second of three children. I was named after the song “Christine Sixteen” by Kiss, my dad’s favorite band. Both of my parents are of Puerto Rican and Spanish ancestry (Canary Islanders). I am a bilingual actress and now an active presence on social media showcasing beauty products and trends, and engaging with the community. The support on both films and social media has been incredibly rewarding, to say the least. Something I never thought possible.
I started my acting career shortly after moving to California and began actively engaging on social media this year. I believe what sets me apart in this industry is my heritage, life experiences, and emotional intelingence, all of which have shaped who I am today. These qualities have helped me cultivate a deep sense of empathy and technique, allowing me to truly understand and connect with each character I portray, resulting in a more authentic and realistic acting approach.
One thing this career has taught me is that courage, discipline, and showing up are three of the most important aspects of any artistic endeavor. Sure, there are always ups and downs when it comes to art. There are good days when I feel on top of the world, and other days when I question every single life decision I have made. I always remind myself that the key is to take it one day at a time, as nothing extraordinary comes from playing it safe.
Playing it safe means seeking a guarantee of expectation; however, a guarantee does not equate to happiness. It’s easier and safer not to take risks, as risk comes from not knowing what you’re doing, making mistakes, and perhaps having to start all over again. It is hard work, but with consistency, it can lead to rewarding outcomes. I am proud of the person I have become, and I wouldn’t have achieved this if I hadn’t fled the nest and chosen not to play it safe.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My life has not always been a smooth road; but no one else’s is, right? What truly matters is how we respond to those challenges. From a young age, I had a keen interest in the arts, but life experiences led me to prioritize financial stability and set “realistic” expectations. This mindset drove me to explore various majors, including education, legal studies, psychology, and eventually Microbiology at the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo. I believed choosing a field with guaranteed career prospects would ensure my financial security and future.
However, as the semesters progressed, I felt increasingly lost. While many of my friends seemed to have found themselves in their Microbiology studies, I struggled to find my passion. It was as if I was experiencing a “quarter-life crisis.” I did not know what to do. I never thought life could be so overwhelming and hard until I got out of high school. So many life-changing decisions and risks need to be made. I wanted a guaranteed life experience, but in reality, I needed a risk-taking, life-changing action that would change the way I see life forever. Then, Hurricane Irma and Maria struck Puerto Rico back to back. Many of my relatives and friends fled, which prompted me to rethink my situation. I realized that embracing change might be the answer to feeling stuck. After all, nothing could be worse than how I was already feeling. And seeing others fleeing Puerto Rico, incentivized me to do the same.
So, I took the leap and moved to California, a decision that would turn out to be one of the best I’ve ever made. This change gave me a second chance to reinvent myself and pursue my dreams as an actress. Though leaving Puerto Rico and my university was terrifying, it pushed me to become the person I am today.
Since moving to California, I have had the opportunity to work on multiple film projects, with my most recent role as the lead actress in Peninsula Nights. Directed by Devin Thomas and starring Stephen Ray Thomas, this feature film, produced by Thomas D’or Golden Production and distributed by American Arthouse, is now available on Amazon Prime. This project has opened doors to even more exciting opportunities, and I am grateful for every step of this journey.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Gosh, I have been working towards this for a long time. My primary goal is to find a talent agent who is willing to take that risk with me. I am worth it, and am eager to showcase it. From there, I aim to start actively working in the film industry, taking on diverse roles. I simply cannot express how much I love dramatic screen acting and those that contain the three R’s I abide by: raw, realistic, and relatable approaches to life. I always say it, and will always believe in it. Additionally, I’m eager to engage in collaborations with the beauty industry, where I can merge my passion for acting with my interest in beauty and skincare. Ultimately, I want to create meaningful connections and be involved in projects that resonate with everyone.
