We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christine Trippi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christine below.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I began in hospitality at the early age of seventeen when I was in the high school work program. My first position was a van driver/laundry girl. Since that time, my mission has been to change the world one YES at a time. Fast forward thirty-five years later and I’ve served select, full, and resort properties.
In 2019 I published Yes Is the Answer, the #1 bestselling book for hospitality on Amazon, and founded The Wise Pineapple. Offering keynotes, workshops, and consulting.
Most recently I have been recognized with Christine’s professional accomplishments have gained her recognition from the International Hospitality Institute, and she was honored with:
– 100 Most Powerful People in Hospitality
– 25 Most Influential Women in Hospitality
– 25 Most Inspirational Executives in Travel & Hospitality
– #2 Training Program by Global Gurus
I am a life-long learner and have enough energy to power the state of Texas! I like my nails pink, my Diet Coke with Captain, and I’m obsessed with getting YOU Sweet Results!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I remember when White Lodging was pursuing me to be an Assistant General Manager for one of their properties. At the time, I was the Front Office Manager for a beautiful, new Marriott property and my team was always in the top ten of the brand.
This would have been an increase in pay and title; however, part of my new role would be to oversee housekeeping. Wow, I thought, that’s not very sexy!” All my prior roles were in the front of house, front desk, bell stand, and concierge, all working directly with our exciting guests and creating incredible experiences for them.
I never saw myself in the back of the house in this way, and it scared me! Also, this hotel needed renovation. I wondered how much could I do without a beautiful property to go with it? Could I be as successful as I had been at the Marriott?
Well, I learned long ago when faced with two decisions, choose the one that scares the hell out of you! That’s where the learning and growth will be! So, I did it!
I quickly found how rewarding it was to motivate, appreciate, and inspire our back of the house teams, even with language barriers! It was so meaningful in new ways I had not experienced before. It was thrilling to see how I could bring my passion to serve on the back end of a hotel experience,
For example, while inspecting rooms, I saw a towel on the floor daily, and I thought, I bet they’re using that for yoga! I left them a card, yoga mat, and bottle of water! The guest was delighted! Then I showed my housekeepers how to look for the YES! Soon our hotel went from being ranked 465 in the brand to #16, all without a renovation!
My clear lesson was you don’t have to follow your passion, simply bring your passion to whatever you do and you and everything around you will shine!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Would you like to have a record-setting year without making cold calls?
Since I founded The Wise Pineapple, I have not had one paid ad or made one cold call. It has all been through social media, my reputation, and word of mouth.
The three key qualities in all my Masterclasses/Keynotes are to help leaders to Be Confident, Be Empowered, and Lead from the Heart!
I really believe, if you are leading from the heart, it comes back to you. Most of my social posts are giving vs. taking! People will tune into your social media because of what THEY can get out of it and how it will help solve THEIR problems.
Three Tips:
1. More YOU, less I! – Begin your posts in your viewer’s shoes. “Have you ever had a win that made your week?” Get them thinking about a winning week, ask them to share in the comments, then you can tell them about your win and give them a tip to get another winning week!
2. Who understands analytics? Not me! What I do know is the number one goal of a social media platform is to have its audience STAY on it longer. When your posts do that, they share your stuff more! Carousels, Reels, and longer text, can help you get more eyes on your content! Share links in the comments because the last thing they want is for you to send a viewer to another platform!
3. Let’s go back to #2, where I said longer text! You might think that’s a no-no! What is actually the no-no is having a long dialog without space. Write two to three lines, space, two to three lines, space, etc. If your hook is about them or something they need, it will carry their eyes to the next lines, and so on. If you post a huge chunk of words, they won’t even look; they’ll just scroll on by! Micro reading is what I call it!
