Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christine Tavolacci. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christine , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken so far in my life was my decision to dive into year-long formal training to develop my psychic abilities. Little did I know that this decision would lead to several years of intensive study, practice, and the HUGE reward of being more fully connected to my purpose, starting my own practice, and most importantly, a deeper connection with my ability to heal myself.
I’ve always been interested in all things mystical and metaphysical, but my path up until that point had been primarily musical and academic. I had completed a doctorate in music performance (I’m a flutist) and was working as a freelance performer and music teacher.
Once I hit my early 30’s, it was like a light switch got flipped on! I started having pre-cognitive experiences (some of them very vivid and shocking, as what I perceived would take place sometimes moments afterward), lucid dreams, and palpable connections with Spirit. These experiences were not consistent, and often it was challenging to parse out where the information was coming from and why. I also found that I was becoming increasingly sensitive to other people’s energy, but did not know how to cope with this new sensitivity in a healthy way. When it felt like “too much”, I often turned to alcohol to numb out and dissociate. I knew I couldn’t continue in this way, and deeply desired to learn how to manage my energy and understand my abilities.
There’s that saying “when the student is ready, the teacher appears”, and that definitely rings true to me! I was connected with some incredible teachers, and a chain of events cleared way in my schedule to be able to devote time to study and practice. Having studied music intensively for 20+ years and being rooted in academia, it certainly felt scary to commit to a practice that is still controversial amongst many. I’m so grateful that I did!
One step led to another, and now I am an assistant teacher in the psychic development school where I took my first classes, with my own practice that is growing and flourishing. I realized that I absolutely love working with my psychic abilities, and that I love helping other people connect more deeply with Spirit and the divine. Music is still a great love in my life, but now I feel so much more balanced and fully *me*.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those who may not be familiar with my work, my name is Christine, and I love to help highly sensitive and creative souls build confidence and trust in their connection with Spirit! I am a formally trained psychic, a trancemedium, a certified psychic development teacher, as well as a creative and eternal student.
Through my business, Kyanite Psychic Services, I offer intuitive readings, energy healing, meditations, workshops, and long term psychic development training. I hold powerful, loving, and compassionate space for you to heal, learn and receive guidance from Spirit without judgment.
Growing up, spirituality was strongly emphasized, and I have spent many years exploring metaphysics and the esoteric. I’ve also been a musician for most of my life too, studying and performing for over 30 years! In my musical life I’ve experienced the powerful ways that humans exchange, transform and experience energy – musicians are highly sensitive to energy, and naturally use their psychic senses all the time. Something that I now realize and validate as a psychic development teacher is that we use our non-physical senses *all the time* in our daily lives. It’s a vital part of who we are and what we’re all capable of – it’s just a matter of setting the intention to focus on these senses and use them to connect directly with Spirit and build relationships – whether that is with your Guides, Ancestors, or Source.
As I mentioned earlier, the combination of intense psychic experiences and increased sensitivity with the upheaval of 2020 led me to embark on the journey of formally developing my skills as a psychic intuitive and trancemedium healer. I’ve loved every minute of it ever since I’ve fully stepped onto this path! It is a joy and a privilege to fully be myself in this life, and my goal to help others find joy and step into the fullness of who they are as a spirit in a body on earth.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about me, my journey, and my work, and I look forward to the possibility of being of service and support to you on your own journey.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I knew about energetic tools and practices of “energetic hygiene” way, way earlier on in my journey. There are so many times throughout my life as a musician and creative where it would have been really helpful to know, for example, how to tell when other people’s energy is in my field, and how to separate from it. How to know when emotions that I’m feeling are mine and when they are someone else’s. I can remember so many times where I felt anxious when, in fact, that anxiety was coming from somewhere outside of myself.
Now, one of the core workshops that I offer to others is a 4-day series, Aware & Empowered, that focuses on simple energy tools that you can incorporate into your daily life, no matter what you do in the world. I really wish I had found something like that when I was just starting out studying and performing music in my 20’s!
No matter what type of creative discipline you are involved in, chances are you are someone that is highly sensitive to energy. We are people that see the world differently, uniquely, and not just with our physical senses. This is something that I think should be talked about more often, and in more places and spaces.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Yes, absolutely! One of the biggest things – a strong tendency – that I had to unlearn on my psychic and spiritual journey is perfectionism. For so long I had been training to be an expert at the craft of music, and there’s nothing wrong with that! But, when I started to develop my psychic senses and learn different energetic healing modalities, I quickly learned that perfectionism and striving to be an “expert” is something that would no longer serve me. It probably was never serving me to begin with, if we’re being honest!
My teachers always emphasized that, when it comes to connecting with Spirit and using your non-physical senses, having a childlike energy and embracing beginner’s mind, is one of the most beneficial approaches that you can take. There are so many studies that have come out, too, that prove that we learn so much more in a state of play vs. when we are in a state of striving and seriousness.
At first it was really challenging for me to do this – I held sooo many expectations. What I “should” be seeing and communicating; what “should” be happening in a session… unlearning has been like peeling away layers of an onion. I’m still peeling! Now I know that every time I embrace beginner’s mind and get out of my own way, Spirit has space to fully step in and facilitate powerful healings not only for myself but for others, too.
