We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christine Passo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christine below.
Christine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I chose the word ‘grief’ to describe the year I experienced in 2023. I had no idea the level and intensity of grief that was to come in 2024.
I became a coach in my early 50’s after reassociating my Social Work college degree from the mid 90’s with overcoming the hardships in life that had held me down for decades. It was an undeniable calling I’d felt for a long time. I had to rediscover who I truly was, embrace every aspect of myself, and confront the grief I had carried for so long before uncovering my life’s mission.
I originally started my business as a Purpose and Transformation coach and like many other entrepreneurs and new business owners, I allowed time, client relationships, and life to lead me the rest of the way. I had always said, “I know grief. I understand grief and have lived through a lot of grief.” Although that was true, I had yet to experience the kind of grief that cripples a person emotionally and physically. I’ve lost many loved ones in my life, had failed relationships, job losses, suffered through toxic and abusive relationships, family turbulence, and the loss of my own identity. I felt deep loss for decades but it was the sudden and traumatic death of my fur baby, Maya Ray, in 2024 that stripped my heart from my body and restricted comprehensive use of my brain. At that moment, I was introduced to a grief that would change every last inch of who I was.
I allowed the devastating grief of my Sheltie to be a prestigious and compassionate teacher. I learned to be patient with my uncontrollable sadness and the extreme roller coaster ride that comes with it. I opened the heart I had to slowly piece back together to accept all aspects of what life delivers; an action I had fought for decades. In becoming aware of this level of acceptance, I met peace and knew I needed to pivot my coaching practice to guide others through their losses.
Grief shows itself in the form of a lost relationship, end of life, career doubt, feeling stuck, divorce, moving, and so many other painful life events. In honoring our grief and the grief of others, we can focus on why it hurts, why it may attach to pain from decades ago, and how our unresolved pain holds us down. In gracing ourselves with the experience of feeling versus choosing happiness, we create an open avenue to walk through it and begin healing. Through healing, we find peace and peace is the doorway to a seemingly permanent serenity that beats a few hours of happiness by a landslide.

Christine, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m not only a four-time certified Life Coach – I’ve spent years untangling the pain of living a life that didn’t align with who I truly am. After my own experiences with loss and the weight of unworthiness, I realized my pain didn’t have to hold me back. While those around me accepted the idea of “sticking to the path,” despite feeling unseen, I believed there was a life of peace and purpose waiting for me. Instead, I chose to transform and create a deep and meaningful life for myself.
I’m the owner and President of a personal life coaching business and I’m also the founder and host of the Unconscious Evolution podcast. I’m on a mission to normalize grief as a multifaceted experience you feel and face everyday because it’s not limited to end of life loss. I’m opening the universe to view grief as it truly is and invite you to accept it, learn from it, and grow with it. Through my unique approach, ‘Recycling Pain,’ I’ll guide you from feeling stuck to living a life filled with ambition and possibility. Whether you’re grieving a lost opportunity, seeking to reclaim your sense of self, or mourning the loss of a fur family member, I will help you navigate your healing journey with compassion and practical tools.
In addition, I’m passionately purposed to expose the raw pain that accompanies the loss of a fur family member. You’ll receive gentle guidance to feel comforted in being heard, understood, and validated in your pain. Your healing journey through grief isn’t about letting go or moving on. It’s about giving you the safe space to honor your heart and the bond you shared with your fur family member.
If you question the status quo, you and I are in full alignment. I’m not purposed to help you choose joy or chase happiness. You will gain coaching that’s grounded in real, meaningful healing—not surface-level positivity. Leading you to peace, beyond your pain, will inspire inner happiness and contentment. Why chase happiness and create the need to seek when you can live in peace?

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I spent 20+ years in the marketing and advertising sales industry and it never felt like a fit for me. I stayed the path thinking this was the career I was supposed to be in and assumed a steady paycheck was the stability I needed in life for fulfillment. I was filling a seat in every organization I worked for and knew, deep down, I wasn’t making an impact.
During a period I was interviewing for a new role, the interviewing manager answered a question of mine that changed the course of my life. I asked “if you were to hire me and look back a year from now, how would I have shown you I was a great hire?” She responded with, “if you were happy here and you felt like you were thriving in your role. If not, that we had an action plan to get you where you wanted to be.”
It was from that moment on I knew I mattered and was made to be of impact. I knew I was more worthy of simply filling a seat. Upon leaving that role, I started the hard work of completely pivoting my career, opened my own business, and began a new and incredible life.
When you don’t believe in yourself, it shows. When you do believe in yourself, it not only shows but it’s revealed in every aspect of your life.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Personalization and warmth are the most important parts to me, my brand, and the relationships I nurture with my clients and connections.
I prefer intimate phone calls, DM’s, emails, or texting over commenting on social media. I feel there’s a time and place for commenting and that certainly matters but it’s the one-on-one communication that makes the difference. I feel extremely connected to others when it’s in intimate dialogue.
