We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christine Dwyer. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christine below.
Christine , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
In August of 2022, In an ever so cliche stereotype. I had been fired from my job. This, however, was not my dream job by any means. I had been wanting to move on for some time. I just didn’t know when, or to where. I knew I was unhappy but had zero clue what direction I wanted to take myself.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I had spent 6 years in sales. The last two years, I was miserable. When I finally left in 2022, I knew I needed to change my path and focus on something different. I have always been the type of person to jump into my next job withough really looking back. After a lifetime of dead end jobs, I knew I wanted to, more, needed to, be my own boss. In a leap of faith, I decided to take one year off to find my “calling”. As cliche as all of that is. I cashed out my 401k and slipped into my new life. I’d love to say that I jumped right into my passion project and its been easy. Instead, I dabbled in many things over that year, and then some. I found baking by happenstance when I was challenged to try a hobby I knew I would fail at. I picked baking from scratch. Ive only ever baked from a box. I started with cinnamon rolls and cinnamon bread because I knew I’d be able to eat it all if I couldn’t gift them to someone. They’ve been a huge hit. With the fast popularity, I jokingly gave the name ‘Peaceful Baked Goods’. My mom is one hundred percent the inspiration for the name since she is always throwing up a peace sign.
I’ve only been baking for others since April of this year. Currently, my goal is to strengthen my social media following. I want my focus to be on a few particular items, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon breads, bagels etc and knocking those out of the park as a home baker vs aspersions of getting into a brick and mortar. I plan on taking followers and potential customers along with me as I learn perfect my techniques and ticks and grow my menu. My following right now is small and mainly consists of “inner circle” clientele. However, the tastes are amazing, I’ve never felt more rewarded than when I see someone enjoying baked goods. I’m hopeful for the goods things to come!

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I personally feel that there are alot of outlets and avenues that creative types can utilize now. We all have access to information at out fingertips, thanks to our phones. There are tons of platforms that offer support. Social media being the easiest and cheapest place to locate support. From my personal experience, within 24 hours of starting my socials I was getting suggestions for other home Bakers and companies, tips and tricks, etc. Maybe I’ve lucked out in that area. It’s actually nice knowing there is a community out there to bounce ideas off of. Or who have come across the same things you have. Whereas if the internet wasn’t a thing, I would feel left without a paddle.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I’ve always worked hard for someone else’s dreams. My goal is to work hard for my own. I want my biggest flex to be that I retired my mom.
