Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christine Black. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christine, appreciate you joining us today. Can you share a story with us from back when you were an intern or apprentice? Maybe it’s a story that illustrates an important lesson you learned or maybe it’s a just a story that makes you laugh (or cry)?
I went to Tennessee State University and received a BA in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Journalism. I started my journey as a Journalist working as a summer intern at 98.7 Kiss FM in Birmingham, Alabama in 2016 and my career had been growing ever since. One month before graduation, I receive a Promotion assistant position for 102.9 the buzz and 102.5 the game. Few months later I became a Promotions Coordinator for 92Q. Now I am currently a General Manager and Personality for Streetz 99.3. This has been a tough field to stay in but the you have to be consistent and discipline. It was very hard for me to get to where I am today but my journey still continues. I had send over 100s of emails, several phone calls and multiple interviews but having confidence and passion gets you a long way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I consider myself a Multimedia Journalist because I am a personality, writer and I host. I currently have my own Podcast on Streetz 99.3 Radio Station called She See It Show. I want this radio show to be syndicated so everyone can hear me nationally. This year I plan to expand my brand She See It with multiple radio stations. My podcast focuses on Interviews, Business Reviews and Live Performances. My radio shows will consist of entertainment news, inspiration and more. Within the first year of starting my show I have been seen on Zeus Network interviews Natalie Nunn, Chrisean Rock, and Rollie Pollie; Television Academy Emmy Awards for Press interviews Jerrod Carmichael; Revolt Tv for Revolt Summit Red Carpet. I have also interviewed celebrities like Trina, Big Homiie G, Soul For Real, and other A-list and B-list. I’m also a host for company called Sofar Sounds that produce live intimate concerts all around the world. It has been a great experience meeting Artist from different cities and networking. This is a different audience from my radio genre and I enjoy being around other people learning new cultures. I just got into my writing journey last year as I was a Writer for The Official Black Magazine based in LA. I do many thing but having good time management helps me completing all projects. I definitely still struggle with it but I do complete all of my projects by it’s deadline. I am very happy in my career for the first time since I started this journey. I still have a lot of work to do but my faith in god has got me a long way !

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is watching a project you submit come to life! To plan a vision then grow it then see the outcome is the most rewarding feeling ever.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Make sure I keep in contact and build relationships with every person I network with. I have networked with people since I was in college and now I barely have the contacts from when I first met them and now I wish I can connect with them again.
