We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christina Thomas . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christina below.
Christina , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar you earn in a new endeavor is always special. We’d love to hear about how you got your first client that wasn’t a friend or family.
My Art has been hanging around my house for years. I’ve always had sketches and creative projects just hanging around my house. Never did I think people would actually want to see my artwork. But to actually want to purchase something was mind blowing. As soon as I started posting on social media networks on the regular basis the customers came. The attention my art was getting was surprising, I didn’t see myself as a real artist I saw myself as someone doing it as a hobby. To be recognized by not only friends and family but by other very talented artists that really liked what I was creating was very fulfilling.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am 32 years old, from Atlanta, GA. I have been creatively artistic my whole life but started sharing to the world on a regular basis 3 years ago. I paint 22×28 posters. I love to create things with my hands. Art has always been inside me from creating the best mug in art class to making the most creative poster for a history project and turning a huge beach ball into a globe growing up. What sets me apart from other artists is my personality and my creativity that shows in every my a create. Every artist brings their own perspective to their crafts and my crazy imagination definitely stands out. I am must proud of the community, connections and friendships my Art has built. My Art will always be a way for me to release my feelings. Creating is very therapeutic for me, I always lead with doing art for my happiness first and foremost. And anything after me creating for my happiness is extra, but very much appreciated with love.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My life drives my creative journey. The good and the bad all play a part my creativity.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My consistency and my creativity helped build my reputation in the art world/market. And just being myself.
