Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christina Siepiela. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Christina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I have two defining moments in my life that showed me the power of resilience, courage, perseverance and faith.
The first was when I left Brazil, my home country, and moved to the United States in 2004, leaving my career as a Family Law Attorney and a College Professor to become a woman who believed in love at first sight. I moved to Dallas, Texas, to live with my boyfriend, at that time, who I had met 5 months earlier in Cancun, Mexico. I came to the US expecting nothing, but to live a life based on love, trust and risk-taking. It has now been 18 years with 2 kids together!
Second, when I became a mom in 2007 I decided to dedicate my life to my children, my husband and my household. I maintained myself in that lifestyle for 11 years and suddenly broke down. I developed depression, anxiety and panic attacks. I wanted to end my life. I was exhausted and without any perspective. The only thing that kept me alive were my daughter’s faces and smiles… I couldn’t leave them in this world. I had to be strong and find something to work with – occupying my brain, my mind, and my heart. I dove deep into my yoga practice and decided to become a yoga teacher. Well, my dream grew and I decided to take another risk and created my own brand Kasa Yoga by Christina, a boutique-style studio for wellness and health in Dallas and Frisco. It has been 5 years and we are growing strong, with commitment, love and faith.

Christina , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
When we think about health, in general, our society doesn’t connect with the human nervous system. People usually connect with their habits: eat, sleep, exercise, friendships, vacations. Those are things we can see. However, being healthy is much deeper than good habits: it’s an internal balance called the regulated nervous system. For me, mostly because I had experienced an unbalanced nervous system, the best and most consistent way to keep me healthy (with a balanced nervous system) is practicing yoga. I can say that humans have 2 options to keep their brains in balance: a conventional approach through medication and an ancient approach through yoga. Because of what has happened to me the past 20 years, facing mental and physical illness while I had to function as an attorney or a mom, I grounded myself to my practice, my daily therapeutic practice to keep me aligned with a stable body and mind.
I created Kasa Yoga by Christina to share with the world what yoga really means since it was created thousands of years ago by the Hindus philosophy of living. It’s a challenge for me to address and offer the difference between what modern society has turned yoga into – a trend of moving fast, working out, sweating and contorcionismo. Yoga in its pure nature is the most powerful tool to regulate the human’s nervous system, restabilizing mobility, flexibility, tenacity, vitality and overall a better quality of life where health is the real wealth.
Kasa Yoga by Christina offers a unique therapeutic yoga practice based on 22 classic yoga postures, all designed in different sequences of movements, combining breathing, meditation and silence. It’s a powerful tool to live a better life.
Kasa is our “Chanel” for yoga, where the product and the service are found only in person in our customized yoga studios designed by a Brazilian architect firm, Jocymara Nicolau Arquitetura. We are unique in North Texas and we are ready to continue to improve the life of our communities.
Kasa is here to redefine yoga, aging and quality of life.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I was on a plane on March 17, 2020, coming back from a lockdown in New York City. As I landed in Dallas, my marketing team, Blu Insight, called me and asked “did you read the news from our Texas Governor this evening?” I said “no! I just landed from New York. They were shutting down the city so we decided to come home early from our Spring Break”. She continues “he ordered all businesses to shut their doors down and remain closed until further notice”.
I looked at my husband sitting next to me in the plane and I said “What am I going to do, Mark? The studio just opened its doors 8 months ago!”
I remained closed with no income for 90 days… but I knew that was not the end of the beautiful story that started years ago when I created Kasa Yoga in my mind and heart. So I called my Kasa team advisers (marketing and accountants) and on May 16, 2020, we met at Kasa and redesigned a whole new approach for the studio, now facing Covid protocolos and all that came with it. On June 11, 2020, we reopened our doors and now, July 2022, 2 years later, we have 100 members at Kasa on Lovers Lane practicing regularly 2 times a week and we are opening doors in Frisco, Texas, in the Fall. Resilience, perseverance, commitment, love, belief, integrity. All that made us to be here today.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes, I would do all the same. I am not a person that regrets or looks to the past often. I live in the moment, I plan the future, I am grateful for the past, with the good and bad. I am fascinated to work with groups, to listen to people’s stories and be able to bring joy, happiness and love to their lives.
I did that for 11 years as an attorney; I did that for 5 years as a college teacher; and I am happily doing it now as a business owner and yoga teacher. I want to keep doing this for the rest of my life… regardless of where or when. I want to bring the service that I do every day, wherever I go in my life!
