We were lucky to catch up with Christina Pitcher recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about one of the craziest things you’ve experienced in your journey so far.
One of the craziest things that’s happened in my business was signing on a client who already had a connection to my family—and neither of us knew it at first!
My mom owns an interior design firm, and she had been working with a commercial client launching a new business. I loved the company’s mission and branding, so when they started posting on social media, I followed and started engaging. Not long after, the founder reached out to set up a discovery call with me, which had me both excited and a little nervous. I was unsure if he knew about my connection to my mom, but I decided I should bring it up at the end of the call, just to keep things professional.
But at the very start of the call, he goes, “Wait, how do you know Joann?” I had to laugh and told him she’s actually my mom! He was totally surprised and said, “Oh, right, you’re married, so different last name—small world!” From there, it just felt natural.
I ended up managing their social media, and it’s been great. Of course, there was extra pressure because I didn’t want to let my mom down, but it’s been fun. My mom’s been a great sounding board, too—we even bounce ideas off each other now.
It was such a full-circle moment that really shows how powerful genuine engagement on social media can be. You never know what connections are out there waiting!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I specialize in content marketing strategy with a focus on social media and video content creation. My love for marketing began in college when I started a small business and quickly realized my passion for promoting it through social media. After working as an in-house Marketing Manager for many years, I launched my own business in March 2024 to explore a broader creative scope.
I love working with female-led, creative small businesses and helping them bring their vision to life online. For me, it’s about blending creativity with data to craft strategies that truly move the needle. I’m obsessed with tracking analytics and refining strategies to thoughtfully keep up with platform changes and trends. In just four months, I’ve helped a client grow their following by nearly 80%, with several viral reels, and we’re currently launching an affiliate revenue stream for their business. So that’s been exciting!
My goal is to constantly improve, even if it’s just by 1% every day. I’m passionate about helping my clients not only reach their goals but surpass them. To help clients grow on social these days, it’s paramount to continually adapt and improve. You can no longer just post whatever and cross your fingers.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy I’ve used to grow my clientele is focusing on building real, genuine connections—not just online, but within my community too. While I spend a lot of time at my desk, I’ve learned that the best marketing isn’t done solely behind a screen. People want to connect with other people, not just businesses or accounts. So, I make it a point to engage both online and in person.
I’ve found that word-of-mouth and personal referrals have been huge in growing my client base. At the end of the day, the more genuine you are, the more your business will thrive.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I stay in touch with my clients through monthly content and reporting check-ins. These are a great way to not only go over the creative side but also dig into the analytics. It’s wild to me how many business owners have never looked at their insights, so I make sure to walk them through the data, even when growth isn’t always linear. This way, they can make informed decisions and really understand what’s working.
These meetings also help build relationships, especially since not all of my clients are local. It gives us a chance to connect, brainstorm ideas, and get creative together. I’m lucky to have clients who get excited about the process and come to the table with fresh ideas. It’s really about keeping that connection alive and making sure they feel involved every step of the way.
