Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christina Patsiokas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Christina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
I would definitely incorporate more trades-based learning into high school experiences. Many liberal arts students can pursue lucrative and rewarding careers in the trades and arts without investing in the traditional 4-year college degree.

Christina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a lifelong photographer who opened my studio, Green Lion Images, around 8 years ago. I specialize in commercial, event, and portrait photography. I love creating striking stills that capture thriving businesses and people. It’s not a success if the energy doesn’t jump out of the image at you. I have loved the food work I’ve done across Denver’s restaurant scene. My Greek heritage has given me an endless love of good food, and savoring it through the lens is delightful. Most of all, I want to convey authenticity in my work. Even if there is staging or modeling involved, I love getting my subjects to relax into the shoot, so that we see their true selves in action. That is where I find my joy.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I have learned so, so much from photographer and creative Facebook groups. There are some really beautiful online communities out there that bring together creatives to talk about the industry and the details of life as a photographer. I wish I had joined earlier in my carreer!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Most of my business comes from client referrals, and I am so lucky in that way. I believe I was able to grow in that way because of personalized service. I try to minimize form emails and third-party interactions when I work with my clients. I think my portfolio of work has grown organically because beautiful photographs beget more clients, but my focus on customer service and communication has converted leads time and again for me.
