We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christina Parker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
The Made Shop was made during a very hard time in my life I was selling on Etsy full time ( I just quit my corporate) Etsy permanently closed my account I had no where to sell. I applied to be part of other store in Chicago w no luck and no time. I went to grab some ice cream at a local shop and next door was for rent. I didn’t talk it over with anyone, I signed the lease two days later. Opened the store with 12 small businesses a year and half later we are here with over 40 small businesses! Moral of the story don’t over think it.

The Made Shop is a store with only handmade items made by entrepreneurs, artists and creative minds from the great Chicago. We carry everything from home decor, art, jewelry, clothing, etc. We have classes by our artists every Saturday by our artists.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Yes I was printing shirts, cards, cups as a hobby and it become my full time job. I know print t-shirts in the store.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Instagram! Our main source of vendors has been instagram!
