Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christina Greiner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was moving from Berlin to Los Angeles on my own, building on the foundation of my O1 visa — a process that took months of preparation, collecting evidence, and proving my accomplishments as a creative professional. But even after getting approved, the bigger challenge was ahead: starting over in a new country, far from my family and community.
There’s no manual for moving internationally. No one gives you a checklist for how to rebuild your life — personally or professionally. I had to figure out everything on my own: how to navigate a new system, build a network from scratch, and carve out a space for myself in a competitive industry. It was overwhelming at times, but I was also deeply motivated by the belief that I had something to offer.
When I arrived in LA, I began working as a freelance stylist, primarily collaborating with Riot Games on their North American shows for Valorant and League of Legends. It was a creatively exciting time that helped me build my U.S. portfolio and strengthen my voice as a stylist. In spring of last year, I joined Fashion Nova as a content creator, and have since been promoted to Content Manager — a role that allows me to lead strategy and explore content in new, dynamic ways.
The decision to move was a huge leap, but it’s been the most rewarding experience of my life. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and grateful for the journey that brought me here.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve always been drawn to fashion — even as a kid growing up in Berlin, one of Europe’s most exciting fashion capitals. Being raised in such a creative and expressive city, and having the opportunity to travel often across Europe, gave me early exposure to different styles, subcultures, and global trends. That early curiosity eventually turned into a career.
I moved to the U.S. to study Apparel Merchandising at Iowa State University, where I also had the opportunity to study fashion styling and merchandising in Paris and London. That international education gave me a well-rounded view of the industry — from trend forecasting to creative direction. After graduating, I began working as a stylist and gradually worked my way up, eventually becoming the Creative Director at Defshop, one of the largest streetwear companies in Germany. There, I led creative campaigns and worked on collaborations with brands like Nike and Adidas.
Since then, I’ve worked across fashion, music, and gaming — producing and styling for music videos, commercials, editorials, and live shows. One of the most exciting chapters was styling for Riot Games, helping shape the on-camera looks for their League of Legends and Valorant shows in North America.
Most recently, I’ve been working with Fashion Nova — first as a content creator, and now as their Content Manager. In this role, I lead the strategy and creative execution of social-first video content that speaks directly to a digital audience. It’s been amazing to bring together my editorial eye, production experience, and deep knowledge of style into content that performs and inspires.
What sets me apart is my global perspective and my ability to connect fashion with storytelling. Having worked in both European and U.S. markets — across streetwear, luxury, and gaming — I understand how to adapt creative work to different audiences and platforms. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come and how I’ve stayed true to my vision while evolving with the industry.
I want people to know that I approach every project with intention, passion, and the belief that fashion and content can be both beautiful and powerful. Whether I’m styling talent or directing a campaign, my goal is always to create work that resonates, inspires, and reflects culture.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining moments of resilience in my journey was making the decision to leave Berlin and move to Los Angeles. It wasn’t just a career shift — it was a complete life transformation. I had built a successful career in Germany as a creative director at one of the country’s top streetwear companies, and had a strong professional network and support system. But I felt a pull toward something bigger and more global, so I went through the rigorous process of applying for the O1 visa based on my achievements in fashion, production, and content creation.
Even after securing the visa, the real challenge began: starting fresh in a new country with a completely different industry landscape. I had to learn how things worked, rebuild a network, and adapt my European experience to fit a U.S. context — all while being far from home and everyone familiar.
Through freelancing and perseverance, I eventually joined Fashion Nova as a content creator and was promoted to Content Manager within a year. That entire journey — from navigating immigration to establishing myself in a new market — reminded me that resilience isn’t about never being challenged; it’s about continuing to move forward, even when the path is unfamiliar.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely. My mission has always been to create work that connects — visually, emotionally, and culturally. Whether it’s styling for a gaming broadcast, producing fashion editorials, or leading social content for a major brand, I’m driven by the idea of telling stories that feel both elevated and accessible.
Having grown up in Europe, studied fashion in the U.S., and worked internationally, I’ve seen how style, identity, and storytelling intersect across different cultures. I’m passionate about helping brands speak to their audiences in a way that feels real and relevant. A polished campaign means nothing if it doesn’t spark emotion or feel authentic to the viewer.
My goal is to continue building creative work that’s rooted in culture, aligned with what people actually care about, and visually engaging enough to stop someone mid-scroll. I want to push boundaries while staying grounded in purpose — always aiming to create content that’s not just beautiful, but impactful.
