We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christina & Eddie Sledge. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christina & Eddie below.
Alright, Christina & Eddie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
We started our business with the goal of only publishing our memoir, The Story of Christina and I; until we realized we wanted to develop more books of multiple genres, screenplays, audio, TV / streaming and film projects which all fall under media. Our last name is Sledge and we started our business at home so, we called the business, Sledge House Media!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a husband and wife publishing and production team. We founded Sledge House Media, a cross-platform media company. We co-founded the company to self-publish our first book, The Story of Christina and I, our memoir in 2021. After publishing our memoir, we knew it was important to share it and all the other content we have in the pipeline with others.
We are extremely proud of our body of work thus far. Collectively we published eight books, two essays and produced two short films, Joined by Fate and Maryland Closed for COVID. Three of our books are bestsellers on Amazon. We tell diverse and compelling stories that highlight unique experiences and backgrounds. Additionally, all of our books are 200 pages or less to reach readers that are limited on time. We also offer indie authors self-publishing consulting services. We help make the self-publishing process easy and stress-free. We also recently launched a Sledge House Media merch store: https://sledgehousemediastore.com/
We are very excited that our debut children’s book, A Day at Shea will be out soon in early 2024! It’s based on Eddie’s true story of going to his first baseball game at Shea Stadium in Queens, NY by himself. The main character is reimagined as a girl, Chris.
You can find more information about our books. films and upcoming projects at https://www.sledgehousemedia.com/.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We met in high school in freshman year in Brooklyn, NY. It was not love at first sight because Eddie was actually interested in another young lady and I was dating someone else. After about a month we became a couple and 8 years later we eloped with a $99 ceremony. We have been married for going on twenty-four years now. We became business partners in 2021, when we started Sledge House Media.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
We self-funded / bootstrapped our business starting to pay for the business license, LLC and domain name. We also self funded our first project to publish our first book. Bootstrapping gave us a sense of ownership, control and pride that we were building something special from the ground up.
