Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christina Diarcangelo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christina , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
A defining moment in my professional career came with the passing of my father, Albert J. DiArcangelo, Sr., in September 2015. His diagnosis of stage 4 cancer profoundly impacted me and inspired the launch of Affinity Patient Advocacy, the sister company to Affinity Bio Partners.
That experience changed the trajectory of my career in a deeply personal way. It underscored the critical need for patient advocacy within the healthcare and clinical research industries. Witnessing the challenges my father faced, I realized how vital it is to provide patients and their families with the support and resources they need to navigate complex medical and healthcare systems.
The creation of Affinity Patient Advocacy allowed me to combine my expertise in clinical research with my passion for helping others. It shifted my career from solely focusing on advancing science to ensuring that the human side of healthcare—advocacy, empathy, and empowerment—is never overlooked. This dual mission has defined my work ever since, shaping both Affinity Bio Partners and my broader efforts to improve outcomes for patients and their loved ones.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my journey. I’m Christina DiArcangelo, a multi-company CEO, advocate, and entrepreneur with a passion for improving lives through innovation and empathy. My career began in clinical research, where I dedicated myself to advancing science and helping patients access groundbreaking therapies. Over time, I saw gaps in patient care and advocacy, which led me to establish Affinity Bio Partners and its sister company, Affinity Patient Advocacy.
At Affinity Bio Partners, we provide clinical research and development services, working closely with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and cannabinoid companies to bring innovative therapies to market. Affinity Patient Advocacy was born from a deeply personal mission to support patients and their families in navigating the complexities of the healthcare system. Through this work, we solve problems ranging from understanding treatment options to advocating for patient rights.
What sets us apart is our dual focus on cutting-edge science and the human element of healthcare. While many companies prioritize one or the other, we ensure that patients and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. Our holistic approach means clients receive not just expertise but also compassion and personalized care.
I am most proud of the tangible impact we’ve made, particularly when it comes to helping patients and families during their most vulnerable moments. The stories of lives changed by our advocacy and the therapies we’ve helped bring to market keep me motivated every day.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that my work is deeply rooted in integrity, resilience, and a commitment to empowering others. My brand, “I am Christina DiArcangelo,” and the initiatives under it—including podcasts, merchandise, and my book Rescuing Mom—all aim to inspire and support people in navigating challenges and finding their strength.
Ultimately, I strive to be a voice for those who feel unheard and a champion for solutions that blend compassion and innovation to make the world a better place.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back, I would absolutely choose the same profession and path, although it has been challenging at times. My work in clinical research, advocacy, and the healthcare industry has been deeply fulfilling and meaningful. It’s not just a profession for me—it’s a purpose.
Each step of my journey, from founding Affinity Bio Partners to launching Affinity Patient Advocacy, has been shaped by personal experiences and a desire to create meaningful change. While the road hasn’t always been easy, especially navigating the complexities of healthcare and advocating for patients, the impact we’ve made has been worth every challenge.
I wouldn’t trade the opportunity to help patients, support families, and contribute to life-changing innovations for anything. If anything, I’d want to start advocating and creating these solutions even earlier. This work has given me a sense of purpose, resilience, and fulfillment that I wouldn’t find anywhere else.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the most significant pivots in my career came during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time of immense uncertainty and disruption. While managing Affinity Bio Partners and Affinity Patient Advocacy, both of which required significant attention to adapt to the challenges of the pandemic, I made the bold decision to launch a new venture: Spectral Analytics Precision Tele-Monitoring with my partner and co-founder.
The pandemic highlighted the urgent need for innovative healthcare solutions that could operate remotely and efficiently. Recognizing this, I pivoted to address the growing demand for precision tele-monitoring technology. This company focuses on leveraging cutting-edge tools to monitor patients’ health remotely, ensuring they receive timely, accurate care without being physically present in a clinical setting—a necessity that became a lifeline during COVID-19.
Balancing the launch of Spectral Analytics Precision Tele-Monitoring alongside my responsibilities at Affinity Bio Partners and Affinity Patient Advocacy was no small feat. It required resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to my mission of improving patient care. I leaned on my experience, my incredible team, and the lessons I’ve learned throughout my career to navigate these challenges.
This pivot not only diversified the services I could offer but also reinforced my belief in the power of innovation and compassion to address real-world problems. It’s a chapter of my career I’m incredibly proud of because it proved that even in the face of global adversity, we can adapt, innovate, and continue to make a meaningful impact.
