We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christina Belfort a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christina, appreciate you joining us today. How do you feel about asking friends and family to support your business? What’s appropriate, what’s not? Where do you draw the line?
When starting a business you have to know which one of your family members or friends to ask for their point of view. You must be willing to grasp both positive and negative thoughts from them. When you go before any family member or a close friend you must keep in mind that they may not be as exciting as you are or have an understanding of your vision, you will find those that will talk you out of it and you will also find those cheering you and push you to bring your dream and vision to life. I am bless to say that my close friends and families are very supportive of any business ventures I may have.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Christina Belfort; the CEO and founder of Fantastik Hair LLC beauty salon locate in Miami Florida. Back in 2014 I took a leap of faith and made the decision to never work for anyone, here I am eight years later owner of multiple businesses.
I am very passionate about hair care; Throughout the years of doing hair I was able to create an organic hair care line that is suitable for all hair textures. I find joy and happiness doing hair, specially the children. I am forever grateful for all my clients who started the journey with me and still remain faithful. Crafting is another hobby of mine and I am very passionate about it. During the pandemic back in 2020 when all businesses had to shut down due to Covid-19’ I decided to use the time and create all types of crafts like t-shirts, key chains and custom mugs. I started posting them on my social media platforms and people were asking how can they make a purchase; I was making custom birthdays shirts with pandemic memes etc….
I love the idea of helping someone birth out a business idea, you can just tell me an idea immediately I would have a blueprint about your business.I am a brand builder, God had been using me to help birth out businesses and bring vision to life. I have been watching friends and client’s businesses flourish before my eyes, they took the time to listen to me and take all the advices and wisdom I poured into them. I recently launched CB EMBROIDERIES; where we specialize in business branding, we service both small businesses and corporations as well as individuals. Along the way my very good friend with best friend/ sister (WDT) Kerryan Brown and I launched HEAR ME ROAR APPARELS, a T-shirt line that was inspired on how she preaches. The vision behind Hear Me Roar apparels came through dreams. While she was preaching one day I saw that I was wearing a shirt saying Hear Me Roar with a lion face and I was cheering and clapping for her and I heard new business venture and I saw the both of us wearing the T-shirts. Kerryan and I turned the dream into reality and it is flourishing by the Grace of God.
I am very proud of how far I’ve come, I’ve had slow days, bad days, ups and downs but I kept pushing. Being a business Owner is not easy, you learn along the way. Consistency is key, always surround yourself with people that have positive thinking and great attitude. I love to learn from others, I never think I’m more superior than anyone. Everyone process is different, as long as you put your trust in God and remain focus everything will go accordingly. There are 2 scriptures I love to quote when it comes to my business both:
PHILIPPIANS 4:19 “ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.“ KJV
PHILIPPIANS 1:6 “ Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” KJV
My spiritual Father Dr. Stanley Joseph teaches me everyday on how to always release positive declarations over my businesses; for example “I shall not lack, may your destiny helpers locate you, I attract wealth, I am a wealth magnet”He once said “ I loose what I pray for and I receive what I pray for” those declarations brings so much positivity in my life and business as well. I honor the Grace upon his life, I love, and appreciate all he’s been teaching me and it works!!!

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is an amazing platform to grow your business. Besides posting flyers , I found out that hashtag is one effective way to promote your business. I have clients who find me through #kidsbraider and #hairbraidermiami. Reels is another way to promote you business, even those who aren’t following you sees your advertisements. Great content will also help take your business to the next level.
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
When I first started my hair care line I had both a hair butter and hair oil. I used to make them from scratch, along the way after a lot of research I was able to find a manufacturing company to take over. I am in the process of relaunching as well. I haven’t encountered any issues at all. I also do private label for those who wants to start small like I did. I provide the product in bulk, and the customers are responsible to brand out by adding their own logo and labels to the products.
