Imagine a world where your true passion becomes the driving force behind your own successful business. For me, that world began to unfold when I discovered my love for marketing and graphic design. As a visual learner and a lover of sketchbooks, I knew this creative path was calling my name.
Though I initially pursued a safer career in marketing, I never let go of my graphic design dreams. I started small, rebranding my father’s solar company, and word of mouth soon had me working on projects for friends, family, and the local community. Fueling this newfound passion, I created an Instagram portfolio, and the response was overwhelming. I became part of a community of inspiring creatives, and that’s when I decided to take things to the next level. I officially launched my own creative studio and embraced my destiny as a freelance graphic designer.
Today, I run my own studio, specializing in logos/branding, custom graphic design, and website design. I revel in the freedom of creating my own schedule and pursuing my passion wholeheartedly. My ultimate goal is to inspire others to break free from the notion that a 9-5 job is the only path to success. When working with clients, I pour my passion and heart into every project. I firmly believe that branding is the lifeblood of any business, yet it’s often underestimated. A well-crafted brand gives a business personality, communicates effectively with the target audience, and builds trust.
My process starts with diving deep into the business’s pain points, understanding the competition, and devising a strategic brand positioning that sets them apart. Don’t shy away from starting small; begin with family, friends, and your local community. You can even reach out to small business Facebook groups periodically to promote your services. Building a solid portfolio that showcases your talents will greatly help in impressing potential clients.
One key piece of advice I can’t stress enough is to consistently exceed your clients’ expectations. Make their experience effortless and go the extra mile by including some complimentary add-ons, such as social media launch graphics or business card designs, with their package.
