We were lucky to catch up with Christie Jean recently and have shared our conversation below.

Christie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?

My first dollar earned as a creative was a couple of months ago when I had the opportunity to be an extra in one of Tyler Perry’s upcoming movies. It was a super fun experience and I learned what it was like to be on set.

Christie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Sure thing. First, I’d like to thank VoyageATL and CanvasRebel for featuring me once again. Hi everyone! I’m Christie. I’m from Long Island, New York, and I currently reside in metro Atlanta. I actually developed an interest in the modeling industry at a young age. I was not only inspired to model by watching commercials but also by my cousin Claudia. She was a model for about 7 years until she decided to go down a different path. I officially decided to become a model late last year when I came across a Christian Model Association ad. This organization has given me the confidence to pursue my dream of modeling while also setting boundaries for myself.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I built my audience first with my family members.  However,  it’s important that you don’t expect your family or friends to support you. Be consistent and focus more on attracting strangers. You can also build your following by going to networking events where you can meet like-minded people and exchange social media information. Also, keep your social media professional. You never know who is checking out your page.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me, the most rewarding aspect is being able to display my love for art through modeling and inspiring other women to do the same. I want other women to know they can pursue their creative dreams at any age.
