We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christie Hensler. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christie below.
Alright, Christie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I firmly believe that every human being wants to be seen, heard, and understood at their core. This belief fundamentally shapes how I approach coaching and speaking, setting me apart in the industry.
Unlike standard presentations that rely on PowerPoint slides and one-way communication, I create dynamic experiences that blend live coaching, motivational speaking, and active facilitation. My sessions are built for connection and contribution, not passive consumption. Participants frequently tell me they appreciate how I speak ‘with them’ rather than ‘at them.’
What truly differentiates my approach is authenticity – I only teach what I’ve personally lived. Every strategy and tool I share has been tested in the trenches of real life. This isn’t theoretical knowledge from a textbook; it’s hard-won wisdom from personal experience. When I talk about overcoming adversity or building resilience, I’m sharing battle-tested strategies that have worked not just for my clients, but in my own life first.
People remember my talks because they get an experience, not a lecture. They leave with practical tools they can immediately apply, along with the inspiration and confidence to use them. This combination of authentic connection, lived experience, and practical application creates transformative results that stand out in an industry often focused on theory alone.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I never wanted a normal life—ever. From my earliest days, I was laser-focused on leading people and making an impact, completely undeterred by others’ expectations.
After battling severe anxiety and mental health challenges that left me barely functioning, I made a radical decision with my family to sell everything we owned, buy an old RV, and hit the road. What was meant to be a six-month adventure turned into years of nomadic living that transformed not just my life, but how I help others transform theirs.
Today, I’m a certified coach and speaker who helps people turn their adversities into opportunities for growth. I don’t just teach from theory—I’ve lived through divorce, mental health battles, financial hardships, and come out stronger on the other side. This isn’t your typical coaching experience. I create immersive, interactive sessions that blend raw authenticity with practical tools that actually work in the trenches of real life.
What sets me apart? I value authenticity over accolades and genuine connections over hype. Whether I’m working one-on-one with clients or speaking to large groups, I create experiences that transform lives, not just fill notebooks.
My mission is simple: to help people embrace adversity as an unexpected gift—a catalyst for personal growth and transformation. My life motto? Be competent. Be consistent. Be courageous.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My greatest test of resilience has been a 30-year battle with irrational fears, OCD, and relentless anxiety and panic attacks. While I made the personal choice to navigate this journey without medication, let me tell you—this path has not been for the faint of heart.
The real challenge hasn’t just been fighting these battles, but having to untangle years of mental mindsets and habits that had become deeply rooted in my daily life. Every second of every day required conscious effort, all while keeping life going—raising a family, investing in my marriage, and building a business.
But here’s where resilience truly shines: I’ve been able to help others through their own struggles even while walking through my own journey. This isn’t about having it all figured out first; it’s about being real, authentic, and sharing tools that work in the trenches of real life.
What’s kept me going, even on days when quitting seemed like the easier choice? A crystal-clear vision of my purpose on this earth. This vision has been my fuel, pushing me to keep fighting not just for myself, but for everyone else who needs to know they’re not alone in their battles.
Through this journey, I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about being unbreakable—it’s about having the courage to keep moving forward, even when the path ahead seems impossible. It’s about turning your struggles into stepping stones that not only lift you up but help others climb their own mountains too.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My biggest pivot came after a seven-year battle with physical and mental health that brought me to my breaking point. My husband made the gut-wrenching decision to resign from his dream engineering job, and we took out a home equity loan just to survive while searching for answers.
Then, in an unexpected twist, I found my solution in the most unlikely place—a supplement from a direct sales company. Though skeptical at first, this became the catalyst for my recovery, and ten years later, it still benefits my life daily.
This transformation led us to build a virtual business, but we didn’t stop there. We made the courageous (some might say crazy) decision to sell everything we owned, buy an old RV, and hit the road with three homeschooled kids and a cat—no backup car, just faith and determination. While building our business from the road, I continued rebuilding my mental health, taking each day as it came.
This nomadic journey, with all its twists and turns, eventually led us to put down roots in Huntsville, AL. Looking back, I’ve learned that sometimes our miracles come packaged differently than we expect, and life often takes us down unexpected roads. But I’ve discovered that with the right tools, a growth mindset, and unwavering faith in God, you can find beauty in the mess. Everything you need is already within you—sometimes it just takes a radical pivot to discover it.
While I wouldn’t choose to live in an RV again, I wouldn’t change our journey. It taught me that when you’re willing to take risks and trust the process, life can be both beautiful and messy at the same time.
