We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christiana Cook a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Christiana, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

I came up with the name Content Creations ATL at the moment I was un sure if I wanted to labeled as a “photographer” to add photography onto my business name so from experience I’ve always loved being in front an behind the camera shooting content so I decided to take it serious an come up with the name Content Creations an I currently reside in Atlanta.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My name is Christiana. I’ve always loved taking photos for so many years I took photos on my iPhone. I was so content with it because it didn’t feel like a job it was just something I really loved to do for fun I loved people’s reactions once they saw their photo. I knew that if I wanted to take photography serious I would need to get things that would help my career. so one day I decided to take it serious an invested into a camera an the rest was history.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

The way I built my audience was just constantly posting my work. I joined many entrepreneur groups on the platform Facebook where I gained a lot of clients. If you’re building a social media presence it’s more about quality over quantity you can post a million times a day but it takes for the beauty of your work that will capture the public’s eye.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?

Absolutely. Working at a law office for 6 years I knew I wasn’t meant to just sit in an office from 9-5 Monday through Friday. I love to move around and be creative an that’s when I decided I would love to do photography more often because it provides that freedom to be creative whether I’m shooting outside or in a studio. Although I still currently work at a law office balancing two careers is not easy by far however I do in due time plan to completely transition into photography full time.
