We were lucky to catch up with Christian Zezza recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by a very stimulating musical environment since my very young age, especially thanks to my dad who has always been a great music lover and my very first music mentor, at least for everything related to the music listening educational aspect. I literally started absorbing all sorts of music influences at a very early age, which eventually became my musical backbone later on in my career, especially in regards of music production and arrangements. Because I personally feel that even that stage of my life was so important to build the foundations for my career, I would say that I feel very grateful for how things developed timing wise.
Christian, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a guitarist, composer/producer and music educator working professionally in the Music Industry for over 20 years. I graduated in contemporary guitar and music harmony at the Academy of Music in my hometown Modena, Italy.
I also attended a certified guitar program at Musicians Institute, Hollywood, CA.
Along the years I toured and recorded with hundreds of artists around Italy, Europe and U.S., as a guitarist, musical instruments demonstrator for major international music brands such as Ik Multimedia, Godin Guitars and Eko Guitars, as well as a solo artist.
I’ve been featured as a guitarist performer and musical instruments demonstrator in several international highly distinguished music events, conventions, press conferences and international competitions, always playing a critical role for the highly distinguished companies and projects I’ve been involved with.
My guitar recordings have been included in some of the most prestigious international Theatrical Musicals, such as the worldwide touring musical “The portrait of Dorian Gray”, a Pierre Cardin Production. The Musical has been touring non-stop internationally in the most important Theaters in Europe and US.
As a music composer/producer for TV-Film and Media applications, I’ve been in partnership with some of the most relevant international Music Publishing Companies for several years, providing exclusive custom music for TV/Film and general broadcasting. My music has been used in some popular TV reality shows such as “The Voice” and major TV networks such as National Geographic, Disney Channel, and distributed globally in more than 40 countries.
I’ve been awarded by multiple international Film Festivals and organizations such as Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Intercontinental Music Awards, Oniros Film Festival, TMA Awards, Akademia Music Awards, just to name a few.
As a music educator I worked full time in several music schools for more than 10 years, then focusing my teaching career into the authorship of educational music video courses and books; I’m the author of 4 educational books and 7 educational video courses related to a wide range of music subjects.
Currently I run my boutique Music Production/Publishing Company “Tracklist Music”, operating in the Music Licensing Industry and providing educational, recording and production music services.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I was more educated on the publishing aspects of the music licensing business, which eventually became one of my main focus and the reason why I’m the author of several digital educational products, so that young generations can have a much more awareness on everything related to those business subjects.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The creative experience itself represents the core feeling of being a creative individual. I think creative people are driven by the necessity to leave a sign in this life and being recognized and appreciated by others for whatever they’ve been able to donate in form of artistic gifts.
