Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christian Zezza. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christian, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I was fortunate to grow up in a highly stimulating musical environment from a very young age, especially thanks to my father, who has always been a passionate music lover and my very first mentor—at least when it came to developing my listening skills and musical awareness. I began absorbing a wide range of musical influences early on, and those influences eventually became the backbone of my career, particularly in music production and arrangement.
Looking back, I realize how essential that early stage of my life was in building the foundation for everything that followed. For that reason, I feel deeply grateful for how naturally and organically things unfolded at the right time.
At the same time, I wish I had been more educated about the publishing side of the music licensing business. That area later became one of my main focuses and ultimately led me to create several digital educational products. My goal is to help younger generations develop greater awareness and understanding of the business aspects of the music industry, so they can navigate it with more confidence and preparation.

Christian, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been working professionally as a guitarist, composer/producer, and music educator for over 20 years.
Throughout my career, I have toured and recorded with numerous singer-songwriters and bands across Italy, Europe, and the United States. I have performed as a guitarist, a musical instrument demonstrator for major international brands such as IK Multimedia, Godin Guitars, and Eko Guitars, and as a solo artist. I have taken part in several high-profile international music events and showcases—both as a performer and product demonstrator—including the NAMM Show, press conferences, and other major industry events.
As a solo artist, I have had the privilege of performing at iconic international venues such as The Viper Room, House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, The Cat Club, and The Roxy Theatre in the Los Angeles area, as well as the O2 Academy Islington in London and Le Divan du Monde in Paris, among others.
My guitar performances have been featured in prestigious international productions, including the worldwide touring theatrical musical The Portrait of Dorian Gray, produced by Pierre Cardin.
As a composer for TV, film, and media, I have collaborated for several years with leading international music publishing companies, creating exclusive and custom music for a wide range of audiovisual projects. My compositions have been featured in popular media, reality TV formats, and films, and have been broadcast on major platforms and channels such as Netflix, The Voice, Fox Sports, National Geographic, and Disney+.
I have received awards and nominations from numerous international film and music festivals and organizations, including the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, InterContinental Music Awards, International Singer-Songwriters Association, Yucca Valley Film Festival, Oniros Film Awards, The Thing in the Basement Horror Fest, among others.
I co-wrote, produced, and arranged a song titled “Hope,” which promotes values such as understanding, peacebuilding, empathy, and positivity. The song was under Grammy consideration in the 2026 Best Song for Social Change category. The Recording Academy’s Harry Belafonte Best Song for Social Change Award is a CEO’s Merit Award established in 2022 by its National Trustees. It recognizes songwriters whose message-driven music addresses the social issues of our time and demonstrates the power to inspire meaningful global impact. The production team for this project is based in Los Angeles and includes 21-time Grammy Award–winning mastering engineer Howie Weinberg.
I have been a music educator since the age of 19, with over two decades of teaching experience. I have worked at some of the most prestigious music academies in Italy and Los Angeles, where I developed a structured, personalized, and distinctive teaching approach.
I am also the author of seven educational video courses and four music education e-books.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The creative experience itself represents the essence of being a creative individual. I believe that creative people are driven by a deep inner need to leave a mark on this world—to be recognized and appreciated for the artistic gifts they are able to offer.
Setting clear goals and envisioning what you want to achieve is certainly important. However, in my view, what matters most is the mission behind your work: staying true to your nature and to the deeper reason why you do what you do. Ultimately, creativity should serve a purpose—it should provide value, meaning, and enrichment to the people your artistic expression is meant to reach.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Although the obvious answer to this question would be to list the many resources that could have helped me progress more quickly in my creative journey—especially considering how technology and educational tools have evolved over the decades—I would rather emphasize something different.
I strongly believe in the importance of self-discovery: developing a unique voice, style, and artistic identity through a path shaped by trial and error. Limitations, in particular, can become powerful catalysts for growth. When resources are scarce, you are pushed to think differently, to experiment, and to find alternative ways of doing things.
That process helps cultivate uniqueness—arguably one of the most challenging yet valuable qualities to develop in the modern era, which often feels increasingly template-driven and standardized.
