We were lucky to catch up with Christian Klingeler recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Christian thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
At Christian K Gallery we do things differently. We not only have already made abstract artwork but we pride on customizing art for client’s homes. Clients are able to purchase or custom order stunning contemporary artwork.
We provide in home design consultation with the artist and professional interior designer. Keeping the environment, architecture and design style in mind we are able create an AutoCAD elevation to suggest the best art style and size for the client’s space.
We also offer custom framing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a Disabled Veteran who served his country through the military, law enforcement, and Federal agencies. I attended Art School in Seattle when I was young and settled in Phoenix, where I earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
I create abstract works of art influenced through my quest to understand human nature and my experiences in life.
I’ve been creating oil paintings since 1999. My beginning works include scenic mountains and northern lights. Now my work has developed into abstract. I am represented by Portia De Rossi’s art curation company General Public and you can purchase my Synograph 3D prints through Restoration Hardware or original works of art through christiankgallery.com
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe by being completely honest with my clients on what style and size would work for their interior design esthetic has earned their trust and referrals.
Many of my clients have the same issue. The home feels unfinished, cold, or bare. What breathes life into a home is Art. Not just store bought art, but original artwork. Here is a story of one of my clients who expressed his new fully furnished home felt unfinished.
A client had some store bought art pieces he wanted to install on the walls to cover space. However, the sizes were too small and the style did not fit the design esthetic. We conducted a home visit and created an elevation rendering to show the best size possible for the space. He was very happy with the detail rendering and could see how the art will elevate the home. He commissioned me to create five pieces for the office and hallway. He submitted his order and I began working on the project. During installation day, the client was so impressed with the art that he immediately showed me other areas he would like custom artwork. After a full years and a half I ended up creating over 20 pieces for his home. The client shared with me that what makes his home feel amazing is the artwork I created for them. It is truly amazing to give joy through my art.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I began by painting landscape works of art and some abstract pieces. However, when trying to sell my art it was either too small, too large or not the right medium. I realized the need to customize art work for clients homes to fulfill their design and size needs. I partner with an interior designer to offer complimentary AutoCAD renderings. Clients can now visualize the best size for their homes. This has propelled my business with constant custom artwork requests.
