We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christian Harris a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My most meaningful project currently is the recent launch of my podcast, “Who Asked Y’all Two?”, along with my brother Matt Lemite. Our goal was to offer unsolicited opinions on a wide variety of topics in order to inform our peers on current topics and express ourselves on how we feel about what’s happening in the world. We cover politics, we cover sports, as well as current events and trending topics. Very strong opinions offered from multiple perspectives in order to get information to the world.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
So i’m 29 years old. I began pursuing my real estate ambitions a year ago, in 2022, with my then business partner, Schnyah Mack. We launched an Short Term Rental business called Stay Awhile Lodging, which we began putting together in June of 2022, in Philadelphia. We offered short term rental stays in West Philly at an affordable rate for those traveling to the city, as well as those who resided in the city.
Although we no longer have our original property that we launched our business in, I’m very proud of the choice they Schnyah and I made to put our business plan tougher and watch our dreams come to fruition. It allowed us to get our start in real estate and get real world experience in Property Management.
As far as for “Who Asked Y’all Two?”, that was inspired by wanting to do a podcast with my significant other at the time. We had been discussing putting some of our dialogue out for public consumption because of the great conversations we’d have and how we challenged one another, but ultimately decided it may not be the best idea for us. I was still very interested in expressing my opinions publicly, even if it weren’t surrounding my relationship, so I approached my brother, Matt, who had another podcast previously, about the idea of us doing one together. Matt and I grew up together in Bear, Delaware, but have a lot of opposing, polarizing opinions on the world, so the thought of putting that dialogue out there sounded intriguing and fun. So we dived in! “Who Asked Y’all Two?” Podcast, available exclusively on Youtube currently. We will be putting the podcast on other platforms very soon as well so for all those who are interested in tuning in to our Unsolicited Opinions on the happenings in the world, check us out on Youtube and stay tuned as we will be available wherever you go check out your favorite podcasts!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I’m not even too sure of what following I currently have lol. I’m still just a regular guy. Those that have gotten to know me on social media or have followed me throughout the years know, I built up most of my following on social media after I got shot in 2015. I was hit four times in an attempted robbery, and when I was well enough, I began doing violence prevention programs along with Christiana Care to try to educate those from similar backgrounds as myself about the importance of the choices they were make in life, as well as trying to save someone from making a life-altering decision. I did that through 2019 (with plans to continue in the near future) and was able to build pretty strong support on social media for using my circumstances to try to better my community.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me as a creative, is having the freedom to be myself, unfiltered. I have come to understand that I may not be everyone’s cup of tea, or what we discuss on our podcast may not be a lot of people’s interests, but the beauty in that is that I’m not necessarily chasing anyone that the content isn’t for. There’s so much content that gets consumed everyday that each shed every one of us literally has a choice in what we choose to consume, so just to lace the freedom to be able to be myself, discuss things that interest me, and build rapport with others who think similarly is hands down one of the most rewarding feelings as far as being a creative.
