We recently connected with Christian Belle and have shared our conversation below.
Christian , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first knew I wanted persue an artistic path professionally, when I was in my freshman year of college. I really enjoyed experimenting different looks on myself but most makeup artist know that practicing makeup on yourself is much different from practicing on someone else, so once I was able perfect my own makeup, I quickly transitioned into practicing on my friends and family to better perfect my craft.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well, I got into makeup very early on in my life due to me singing/dancing in church, school or dance recitals I participated in. I used makeup to not only make my clients feel beautiful but it also helped me feel a lot better. Both physically and emotionally. At one point in my life, I completely cut off my services to help take care of a sick relative, who I later lost to Covid-19. Losing someone so dear to me, took a toll me and my family. I was angry, depressed and confused and I needed something to keep me busy and get my mind off the pain I was feeling, so I started taking clients and from there, I’ve been excelling in so many ways. My journey started off as just something fun to do but it quickly turned into a passion and a gift God has blessed me with and I’m thankful.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I absolutely would love for people to know my name and show them how hard I’ve worked to get to where I am but the most important thing is inspiring people and showing them what innovation looks like. Showing people that stepping out of the box, being different and being consistent will bring to the finish line.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect is my clients faces after seeing the finished look and the nice reviews they post on social media about, not only my work but my professionalism and my customer service. I cannot stress enough how important customer service is. There’s no way you can’t expect your clients/customers to return if they leave feeling uncomfortable.
