Hi Christi, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Being goal oriented and determined

Christi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Christi Wilson. I’ve been in the cosmetology industry for almost 5 years and have been a salon owner for almost 4 years now. I have a salon in West, TX and am currently in the process of opening another salon in Elkhart, TX.

My mom has been in the industry for almost 26 years and she has taught me so much. Her and I work with each other which is truly a blessing. We learn from each other. I can teach her new techniques and she teaches me the old techniques. Without her, I would not be where I am at now.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Social media, social media and more social media. Facebook and Instagram are the way that I have grown my clientele.

Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?

Well, I didn’t buy a business but I had to build a business. I hadn’t been out of school very long but I knew that I wanted to be a salon owner. It was a goal that I had set for myself while I was in school. Without my husband’s encouragement, I don’t know that I could have done it. Making the leap of faith is hard, but I did it and it has paid off.
