We were lucky to catch up with Christi Angelique Jones recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Certainly! The most meaningful project I’ve had the privilege to work on is House of Van Helsing. This project holds a special place in my heart due to its unique circumstances and the profound impact it had on me as an actor.
House of Van Helsing was filmed in Armenia, a country with rich history and vibrant culture. Portraying the character of Elizabeth Bathory, a misunderstood woman steeped in myth and mystery, was an incredible opportunity. What drew me to this role was the depth of her journey and the emotional complexity surrounding a figure believed to be a vampire.
The main reason this project became so meaningful to me was the immersive experience of filming in Armenia. It wasn’t just about the scenes or the acting; it was about being part of a different culture, understanding its people, and embracing their traditions. The time spent in such a beautiful country with such warm-hearted people made an indelible mark on me. I am changed from my time there.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Since stepping onto the stage at 14, I felt an undeniable pull toward acting, yet societal expectations led me elsewhere. The birth of my children awakened dormant emotions, sparking an unyielding desire to nurture my dreams, albeit overshadowing my own. However, a battle with breast cancer stripped away my shields, exposing regrets and unfulfilled passions. It was this moment that I knew I needed to pursuit acting. In scripts, I found solace—a medium to unlock human complexities and craft creative narratives.
Through my acting, I aim to connect with audiences on a deep emotional level, unraveling the complexities of human experiences and portraying characters with authenticity. I solve the “problem” of bringing stories to life in a way that resonates with viewers, eliciting empathy, understanding, and introspection. My performances invite audiences to explore diverse perspectives, challenge societal norms, and navigate the intricacies of human emotions.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my unique life journey—a story of resilience, overcoming obstacles, and discovering my true passion for acting. My ability to connect with characters at a profound emotional level, my dedication to honing my craft, and my commitment to authenticity and truthfulness in storytelling differentiate me, allowing me to breathe life into roles and leave a lasting impact on audiences.
Despite life’s interruptions, I’ve come to realize that my journey was always about unearthing my voice and unraveling the depths of my emotions. Acting has become my life force, resonating through joy and sorrow, whether a ruthless vampire or a sweet mother, I found a sense of belonging I’d long sought.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There’s a pivotal moment in my journey that truly encapsulates my resilience and determination to pursue acting despite life’s challenges.
After battling breast cancer, I found myself at a crossroads, filled with regrets for not having pursued my passion for acting earlier due to fears and societal pressures. This experience stripped away many of the emotional barriers I had erected, leaving me raw and vulnerable. Instead of succumbing to the weight of regrets, I chose to view this as a turning point.
Despite the physical and emotional toll of the illness, I made a conscious decision to dive headfirst into acting. This was a significant leap for me as reconnecting with emotions and understanding their depth became a daunting challenge after years of suppression. I joined acting classes and threw myself into scripts, determined to decipher the intricacies of human emotions.
It wasn’t an easy path. Re-learning to feel happiness, sorrow, and fear was akin to unraveling a complex puzzle. However, with persistence and unwavering dedication, I began to find solace and meaning in each character, viewing scripts as canvases to paint emotions and stories.
This period marked a true test of resilience—a moment where I refused to let past regrets define my future. It was a journey of self-discovery, an affirmation that it’s never too late to pursue one’s passion, even amidst life’s most challenging moments. The decision to embrace acting after overcoming such a significant obstacle stands as a testament to my resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to my craft.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is propelled by a profound mission—to authentically connect with audiences through storytelling. I aim to break societal barriers and challenge perceptions by portraying characters that unravel the complexities of human emotions, fostering empathy and understanding. Each role serves as a canvas where I strive to bridge the gap between audiences and narratives, offering a deeper insight into the human experience. Moreover, I aspire to inspire others by conveying the message that it’s never too late to pursue one’s dreams, encouraging authenticity and self-expression, and leaving a lasting impact on audiences through the power of storytelling.
