We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christel Davis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christel , appreciate you joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
With my customers I treat them how I’d like to be treated especially when spend hard earned money. With every purchase I throw in an item I think they might like . A token of appreciation you know!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well crazy story for years I’ve had flawed skin dating back to middle school. And I’ve tried every product, and dermatologist out there like Dr.Thrower & Morris Brown products. However nothing seem to help fast forward to 2019 I took interest in natural ingredients/herbs did a little research and boom I was my own test dummy (lol). My skin started to clear and my son & daughter became my testers and it went from there. I was scared in the beginning thinking no one would support me etc I’m not licensed. Then God spoke to me it was like child none of those celebrities are licensed let alone providing a journey to see the before/after don’t get in your own way. So I was obedient , like skincare has always been a thing for me I just didn’t want to be rejected and overlooked but that quickly went out the door.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn the people you love aren’t your biggest supporters and I had to learn Nobody goes harder than a person you never met .. the backstory to that is I have people I’ve known for years not purchase one item, share a post nothing . But that tiktoker I’ve never met showed love just cause. So I’m forever grateful for those who support and continue to support.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Basically just be you don’t get caught up in the number of likes or views because I’ve learned my likes and views don’t add up but the revenue does. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. When your genuine the audience will attract to that .. As we know social media is hype I’m all about the realization I don’t get made up everyday to speak to my audience I give raw and uncut
