Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christa Boyd. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
If I could go back in time I definitely wish I had started this business earlier! I was always so scared to take the plunge and invest in a camera, because they are so expensive, and I didn’t want to fail. I absolutely would have done that differently though because this business has been the best thing to ever happen to me! I think starting sooner would just have opened up opportunities earlier and allowed me to meet more people.
Christa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started Running River Photography in July of 2021. I had an almost one year old at the time and he was my source of inspiration. I always loved taking pictures and having him just amplified it for me! If I’m describing my photography I’d definitely say I’m a lifestyle photographer. I like to aim more toward taking pictures of people just being themselves. I think it’s important to have confidence in your work and your ability. Photographers are everywhere and you have to have more than just a camera to have good work. I’m most proud of the fact that in a little over a year I have been featured, been nominated for the best of Georgia, and built and amazing clientele!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
This one is always so hard for me because I am definitely not a huge social media person. I am absolutely terrible with Instagram and tiktok, but honestly posting every single day has truly helped me be seen in the social media world. Also, thinking of things outside the box! I had a mechanic mini session go viral because it was something that not many people had seen before.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Definitely word of mouth! Almost all my new clients this year have been people that have a mutual friend with a past client of mine. I absolutely love that people help me and I have an amazing group of clients that constantly tag me when they see someone needing recommendations for a photographer.
