We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chrissy Parsons. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chrissy below.
Chrissy, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I am much happier being a business owner! Now, don’t get me wrong- working a “regular job” that has set hours was nice- being a business owner you are working 24/7 and all times of the night. However, I am a mama to three beautiful babies- so having more flexibility so that I can be present for them and be there for sports/appointments is very important for me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hi! My name is Chrissy, I am the owner of my small photography business! I am based in the Tampa, FL area but am willing to travel in order to capture memories for others!
I got into this industry when my first baby was about 3 years old. I had an old hand-me-down dslr camera and it never left my hands! I would take my kids in the backyard, to the park, the beach, anywhere and make them model for me! Then I started branching out and doing my friends and my co-workers, and now I am so blessed to be doing weddings, and families that come to Florida on vacations, and even special milestones like maternity and proposals!
I think what sets me apart from others in my industry is that I put my all into every contact that they get from me. From the initial booking message, to leading up to the session, to the session, and even the post process! I am always available for texting/calling for any questions that they may have. I am here for help with outfits, with posing and making you feel comfortable while we are taking the photos, and the post- what to expect with how long your gallery will take and sending you sneak peeks!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When I first started doing photography- It was a side hustle. I focused on mainly just family sessions, so I needed minimal equipment. I then would take the profits from those and turn that into new equipment so that I was able to eventually take on weddings and other types of sessions! It was a slow start but I am so thankful for how far I have came now.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Consistency.
Consistency with showing up on social media is HUGE and arguably the hardest in our industry. Social media is everything now.
Consistency with editing is also huge!
