Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chrissy Carrozza. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chrissy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I actually never dreamed of ever owning my own space or being where i am at in my life today. I just never thought it was possible. I have come from a pretty rough past and when i look back at that from where I’m at today .. it actually makes me cry. I am currently an addict in recovery, i will be celebrating 12 years on march 3rd 2023. I’ve been helpless, homeless and dreamless. One day something changed and i made a choice to change my life and never looked back since. It has not been an easy road but i would not change a day of it. I worked for chain salons most of my career then branched off to a private salon in 2019.. then Covid hit in 2020 and i was just on a mission to start a new journey. I toured the suites like 3 times before making the jump. I even bullied my best friend into coming with me and we actually rent connecting suites. I’m so grateful we get to be on this journey together, it makes it easier and definitely more fun! In the last year i have been digging for more out of my industry. I’ve been hoping on planes and driving states away chasing more education and it’s absolutely fueling my passion again. I’ve been in the industry 16 year so this is definitely helping me to remain technically sound and current in a fast changing industry. I am so grateful that for this life i have the privilege to live. Not everyone gets the chance i got and i do not intend on wasting it. Let me end by saying i would not be able to do any of this if it wasn’t for the best clients ever and my family, friends and my fiancé. Dreams take a village and I’m so grateful for mine.

Chrissy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been in the industry for 16 years . I went to Jean Madeline right out of high school. I opened my salon suite in July of 2020. I specialize in all things hair color. From lived in dimensional color to color corrections and everything in between. I do my best to strive for client satisfaction. I have such an amazing clientele which i am so grateful for. One of the big things in this industry is relationship building and that is so important to me. The relationship between me and my guests something i value more than anything. It is absolutely a full time job and more work than i ever imagined but this is the most rewarding part of my career to date! It has offered me a freedom i never thought was possible. I offer free consultations to all my future guests to make sure i am the right stylist for them which i feel is so important! I am a firm believer in not everyone is for everyone. I can not wait to see what my career holds for me in the future! I’m really excited about this new journey I’m on! It’s going to be amazing.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I think the best source for me would be word of mouth and social media. Social media is a wonderful tool but it is also a second full time job! But in order or keep my business growing i have committed to continue to promote my business on social media. I have also grown my business by a ton of referrals!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I remember when i was still in high school i was a receptionist at a salon that was down the street from my high school. I had the manager of that salon tell me that i would NEVER make it in this business. About 7 years later i became a manager at that very store and was thriving in the company. I’ve never been one of those people who let’s the words of rude people talk me out of my dreams. I love when people say i can’t do something… because it fuels me to do it and do it well. Negative energy is absolutely a motivator for me.
