Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to ChrisIVIiami. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, ChrisIVIiami thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My most meaningful project I’ve worked on so far was my last album with my current artists(Hard Times Don’t Last 2). I think it was meaningful because you can really hear the difference between that one and the first Hard Times Don’t Last which was released in 2020.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I have been working on music since early 2015, I’ve always wanted to do music since I was younger, however I never got serious with it as a kid of course; I just wanted to go outside and ride my bike with friends or play the game. Before I saved up to get an iMac I downloaded an app that you could make sounds on (would not even call it beats because it was terrible) which led me to becoming more serious about it. In a couple of months time, I made a lot of “sounds” on the app and sent it to my friend Lex who told me “if you can make beats on a phone you could really make beats on a computer”. Those words stuck with me, and ever since then, I have been on my grind every single day.. I think what sets me apart from others is my consistency. I’ve been working 60hrs a week for the past 4-5 years and coming home to work on music almost every day; overall I just try not to make excuses…
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think the best thing to do to support an artist is to just show love; like a simple repost/sharing of their craft can go a long way.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
One of my biggest goals is to fix my grandfathers vision no matter the cost. He is I believe 95 percent blind, and has been most of his life. I haven’t told my grandparents this, and Nana (or any of my family) when you see this don’t tell him I just want to make it happen when the time comes!
