We were lucky to catch up with Chrisette Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chrisette, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
The biggest trend I’m seeing in the social media industry is that everything is moving towards video content. Video content is now necessary for any person who is trying to “show up” on Instagram and Facebook. Gone are the days of static images and iPhone pics. We’re all needing to level up here.
Turn your photos into videos by adding a simple filter and posting it as a Reel will help increase eyes on your page.
With video being IG’s new priority, it’s made me learn a new skill set, but it showed me that we MUST be adaptable and always STAY creative.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I grew up with social media (aka. constantly changing my HTML myself on my Myspace page to make my page look cooler). And I was amazed at what you could do and how creative you could get at a young age never really thinking that I would ever get into doing this professionally.
In 2016, I majored in Entrepreneurship and worked full-time for million dollar e-commerce brand. I learned SO MUCH front end and back end from working for this brand. To this day, they’re still one of my clients and if it weren’t for that opportunity there, I wouldn’t have gotten a taste of what this industry is made of.
My most proud moment… Well, when the world shut down, everyone was going online. All stores, all restaurants, all the things online. With more people asking for social media help, I had to push myself into not only doing more but being more. So I dove into working my tail off, learning better graphic design skills, understanding print, finding my “copy” voice, learning better engagement strategies, holding more live video sessions, and MUCH MORE. There was just so much that I never would have gotten to experience if it weren’t for the lockdown.
What I’ve found is that I’m extremely adaptive. I’m actually able to kill it at managing various accounts across various industries and even across different platforms. I’m always trying to find new ways to make content that people enjoy, feel drawn to, and spoken to. I don’t just want to build “followers” but build family that stays in touch. So what am I most proud of? That I’m able to stay creative amidst the chaos.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Well first, it’s identifying who your clientele even is. Then, we must always stay connected to them no matter what. Two examples of doing so are by staying consistent with posting good social media content and pushing email campaigns that tell stories that better communicate your business.
People want to be known, wanted, needed, and problem free. So with that, find how you can better connect with your clientele and give them what they need.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Always tell your team the WHY and the WIN. People won’t know why they’re doing something until you make them understand the reasoning behind it. People also need to know the end result, where it’s going to take them, and how they can win at their job, task, etc.
