We were lucky to catch up with Chris Strait recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Chris thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
Best investment I’ve ever made was into my career. This may actually be tied with my children, but who knows? They are still too young to tell. :) The worst has been anything real estate. Between economic downturns and bad marriages, I’m the only idi*t that lost money investing in L.A.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I always loved listening to old comedy albums when I was young, and If I’m honest with myself, I knew I wanted to be a comedian when I was 10, but I didn’t pursue it until I was 24. It was an impractical career, so I figured the desire would pass, and I’d settle into a traditional job/life. Never happened.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I don’t believe in Billionareism, and if I were in charge, part of their wealth-seizure should be creative pursuits. A society that profitizes everything is doomed. We need art. They need less money and power. A commissioned artist should be a WAY more common thing.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
That feeling during and after a great show is something I have never gotten tired of, nor can it be topped. No matter the location, or how you were feeling before it, a good crowd heals you.
