We recently connected with Chris Spinoza and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I have been working on my first studio album very methodically ever since I decided Rap was my goal. Bit by bit I constructed a very elaborate story told over two separate albums. The themes represented mirror that of relatable emotions from various spectrums. This way everyone has something to hear and it makes my music a lot more unique.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ll start it off with a small excerpt :
My friend and I were outside at night in his backyard roughly around 2 a.m. Before then we were freestyling as a joke and for fun but slowly I was beginning to adopt the “fantasy” of me being a Rapper. I was the #1 Accelerated Reader recipient in my district in Miami, Florida. This was at 7-8 years old and was documented reading 450 WPM+. Advancing through the Gifted Program I was taught that we were unique since roughly the population of those in the program is infinitesimal.
However, this mentality along with my innate ability to be a social popular chameleon with wit, intelligence, and charisma. Everywhere I was I was the center of attention. I took up extra curriculars such as Piano and Guitar at a school inside and outside.
I’m not the best Piano nor Guitar player but I did learn Music Theory and this helped me tremendously by creating a layer that protects the foundation of my differential delivery.
The last piece to the puzzle was the fact I ONLY exclusively listened to rap. And not just any rap, the hits and the undercover bangers specifically.
When the puzzle was done in my head my friend posed to me the question : ” If you get into Rap who do you want to be like? ”
I reply ” Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Tupac, Biggie, Nas ”
” So you wanna be a game changer huh? ”
and here I am now. 5 years later and on a completely different level because of drive and motivation practice and talent.
My goal is to become the undisputed unanimous GOAT. No debates, no opinions, facts.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
1984 by George Orwell introduces themes of dystopian society if we don’t protect ourselves and the planet. Sometimes we live in a bubble and its hard to reach out, but we must. It is a great book and I highly recommend.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The fact that I can express myself fully through the only medium that can do so.
