Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to CHRIS OSBORNE. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

CHRIS, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

Started performing at a very early age entering dance competitions with my mother at age 5. By the time I was 14, I was already performing in venues all across DFW, and I haven’t stopped since

CHRIS, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I started performing as far back as I can remember. Entering dance competitions with my mother at age 4, and eventually learning to play guitar. By age 14. I was performing at local venues all across the DFW area, and I haven’t stopped yet. I had a distribution deal with Favored Nations (Steve Vai’s record label) and made some good coin for a bit. Now, my main musical outlet is my cover band Saving Yesterday (facebook.com/savingyesterdaytexas). We play all over DFW. I also have a recording studio in my home, as writing and recording original music is still a big passion of mine

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

Don’t miss out!! I have been on stages around DFW for nearly 40 years, and I’m tellin ya, there are loads of incredible musicians around these parts!! There are also several great venues!! Folks, ya gotta make an effort to get out to these amazing venues and support these incredibly talented artists. If we don’t show the necessary support for these pand places, they’ll eventually disappear!! Don’t say “I’ll catch em next show”. Get out and support!! Please!!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Creativity, especially music, is the biggest part of who I am as a human being!! Whether it’s original or cover music, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than on stage!! The beautiful thing about music, especially live music, is its ability to being people together!! There’s nothing else like it!! No matter what’s going on in your life, who you’re missing, who you’re feuding with, no matter what’s going on, live music can take ya to another place where you can forget about everything else and just enjoy yourself!!
