Hi Chris + Natalie, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
Our hope is Resplendency’s legacy will be the following. An organization that rejoiced as individuals were inspired, encouraged and grew in their faith in God, [especially the younger-next generation]. Also being happy as people learned to triumphantly face struggles, strived to continuously go to the next level while most importantly not compromising the truth of God’s Word. When people think of Resplendency, they will know those people are far from perfect but they choose to ¨Stand Out and Shine¨ and ¨Pray and Believe God¨ in all God has for them.
Chris + Natalie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For Resplendency, time is an asset, so we consistently encourage everyone to ¨Stand Out and Shine¨ and to ¨Pray and Believe God.¨ We inspire others to do as our Savior, Jesus did; that is that it’s not about fitting a mold while shining, valuing, and holding strong to their faith according to the Bible in love. We so appreciate where we are now; from humble beginnings to presently having a worldwide online platform. Our spiritual journey began with learning Biblical truths at the Brooklyn Tabernacle in Brooklyn, New York. As young people, we learned how truly faithful God is to us, which in turn instilled the importance of faithfulness. We acknowledge that we all have faults and shortcomings even where good intentions are present. With that said, “Resplendency” encourages everyone to be all God wants them to be yet not compromise your faith nor devalue God´s Holy Word. To Stand Out and Shine is to prayerfully be and do one’s best not only in front of others but especially when no one is watching. It also means to look situations straight in the eyes whether fearful or not, doing the right thing which strengthens being who God wants you to be. It’s about doing things with excellence and sincerity. We are passionate at Resplendency, encouraging people to be all that God wants them to be [to stand out and shine] but the key is to not compromising their faith. We understand the battle to want to fit in when being around people in person or on a social media platforms desiring approval of others yet choosing to hold strong to the integrity of God’s Word. It is our mission to inspire others to receive God’s love and live out their faith daily in wisdom and love, and impacting others for good right where you live. In wanting to continue to making a difference, Resplendency loves and enjoys volunteering.
Resplendency came about to improve and empower people’s lives and to inspire people to be all God wants them to be. Our hearts desire is to see people develop Godly character that will show who they really are in their everyday lives and upholding the truth and value of God´s Holy Word. Recognizing the need for others to be encouraged, we bring inspiration continuously online at least 3 times a week. To know Resplendency can impact someone else’s life in a positive way is so rewarding and are now impacting many more virtually is incredible. It really is an honor for us to encourage whomsoever is teachable with messages from the Holy Bible. We have had the honor of bringing encouragement to others for several years now. Something we are most proud of is to see how others who support what we do will help us raise funds to feed those in need, support widows, local pregnancy centers, our local healthcare heroes, and sponsorship of local parks & recreation opportunities. We have had the honor of hosting annual conferences and virtual interviews and reaching individuals all over the world. With all these online activities, it is our goal is for all people who are encouraged to develop moral character and have principles according to God´s Word.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I think the main thing Resplendency had to unlearn/change is what a traditional ministry looks like. Doing things truly different is ok which has been a success. Look at our name ¨Resplendency¨ which encourages all to ‘Stand Out and Shine,’ meaning not to be `religious` but being true, holding on to the truth and to greatly value God´s Holy Word in everyday life. One very important thing to remember is to be fair and respectful in hearing out circumstances with understanding and compassion to both sides of each story or social issue regarding the struggles therein yet to stay true as our Savior, Jesus did by not devaluing the truth of God’s Word or compromising one’s faith to be accepted.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
We started with a small following as we began broadcasting on YouTube before the Covid pandemic began, learning the ins and outs of talking into the lens of a camera and seeing all the quality work behind the scenes to produce a livestream broadcast or a prerecorded video. When the pandemic began, legal counsel encouraged us to get out of the lease agreement due to not knowing the financial future along with how long the space was not going to be used. God blessed us that the owners amended our lease and released us from the long-term lease agreement. With financial donations at an all-time low, with resilience and hard work, our online community grew tremendously on YouTube. Resplendency is extremely grateful now having precious people from all over the world reach out to us to pray for their various situations. We take prayer seriously and are beyond humbled hearing of how God answers the prayers. During Covid we all heard of healthcare workers who worked day in and day out yet could not see their loved ones and how local restaurants needed money so we raised funds to support local restaurants by purchasing food on multiple occasions for the entire staff of a local Hospital Emergency Room, sent food to those impacted by hurricanes in other states, fed multiple families for a month who recently lost their jobs. We learned resilience by using the adversity of a worldwide disease to the benefit / improvement multiple communities both far and near. We learned from experience and chose to ¨Stand Out and Shine¨ by still continuing, improving and increasing our livestreams and content for example, our Annual Women’s Conference included people as far as the United Kingdom and various states here in the United States.
